screen tearing cause gsync is not on xg2431?

Recently just got A xg2431 and i am experiencing screen tearing and i feel like this is a result of gsync not working i have pure xp set to off and freesync turned on and i am using the included display cable but the monitor still comes up as not validated for gsync i even isntalled the latest firmware from ViewSonic website
my specs are a 3070 and r7 5800x3d any help would be appreciated
