Hi Chief, I just saw this product announcement for a new OLED from Viewsonic. The product page mentions BlurBusters Verified, but on the user guide pdf it mentions that there is BFI settings for "BFI Minimum Hz (+/-, 48~120)/1" and "BFI Strength (+/-, 50~100)/10", which would suggest the product could be Approved rather than Verified. Is that something you're able to comment on at this time?

the first blurbusters verified display is finally coming? that's so exciting! 4ms persistence without having to deal with double images due to inconsistent framerate & strobing is a huge step forward!

Tft central posted an article for this and shared portions of the manual, suggesting the bfi can be used between 48 and 120hz. The dip to 48hz - and absence of the higher grade green badge - suggest to me that between 48hz and xhz, the monitor will double strobe. Could be wrong though, maybe it didn't get the green badge because it can't do bfi at arbitrary refresh rates (ie, it's locked to 48/50/60/96/120, or some similar spread of fixed BFI compatible refreshes), or the "pulse width" (black frame time) isn't adjustable enough.

Would love to know what the single strobe range is - or what kind of performance we could expect in terms of out of the box accuracy to a variety of color spaces, etc. Other things I noted looking over the manual:

Switching to HDR is a manual process on the monitor (the instructions confirm windows has to be set to HDR "on" and then you can change the HDR setting on the monitor to "on" afterwards)

The color space (dci-p3, srgb, Adobe srgb, etc) is not exposed or user selectable. Not sure what will be used in which mode.

No oled care / pixel protection functions for the user to use. Either what's there is automatic or they don't exist.

The way HDR works suggests to me that if you want to use bfi, you'd have to turn vrr off in your driver and in the monitor before you can select it. This is largely nothing new though, as this is how it works on most (all?) other displays with bfi / backlight strobing.

This has NOT been confirmed and the US site for this monitor has no such certification

Is it true? I also have doubts, can I ask it?

You can ask anyone anything.

Here's a short review in polish, where they confirm that it really has bfi at 48-120hz, although they don't test it, just mention it's there, while adding that this feature is "not needed" because y'know it's oled  Le sigh. But at least this confirms it.

Not too optimistic about this one. No mention of it on the USA page, no reviews, and no posts from the chief. If this had any major advantages over other oled displays that have implemented bfi on the scaler level, we'd be seeing it in the marketing.

It has this monitor on Amazon.com and there are reviews of it but the reviews say that Viewsonic forces you to agree to a NDA which prevents you from testing the BFI and reporting it's results or something like that which may explain why the polish review refused to test the BFI and it may also explain why Chief also refuse to speak about this monitor.

The guy who said this was speaking about how he asked Viewsonic for info about the BFI but they asked that he sign some sort of NDA etc because they don't want this going public due to "sensitive information"

Honestly speaking I wish we could get another vendor to work with besides Viewsonic the XG2431 is limited to very low brightness when strobing and you need to use it in a dark room because Viewsonic refuses to allow for overclocking of the LED voltage at 3X which is what BenQ does and they have 0 problems with this. Viewsonic is concerned about lifespan of the LED etc yet this has never been a issue with Zowie.

Problem is none of these other vendors like Zowie want to implement blur buster utility with 60 HZ single strobe. you keep hearing this talk about nobody plays games at 60 FPS, and yet majority of games out there are still locked to 60 like fighting games, souls like games and so many more.

Well that's absurd. Can you link the reviews?
