Hi,

is there any reason NOT to play full 360 hz in competitve games like cs?
when i have lets say 300 fps and play with 360hz it sometimes feels off.

like i think its better to play with 240hz instead.
is it just me or what am i experiencing?

i have this narrative in my head since years adjusting my hz to my fps like in tarkov i get 140 max so i play 120hz.
does that make ANY sense?

or should i just play 360hz? also does it make a difference if my desktop is like 240hz and my ingame hz is 360hz?

You can also set a custom refresh rate via the nvidia control panel. Like 300hz for 300fps. But even if the game will feel smoother, in a competitive game like cs, playing at 360hz with low latency on ultra and vsync off will make you play better since you will have the lowest input lag possible on your setup. I think input lag is more important than frame timing in competitive games. But if you want a smoother experience at 300fps ( and 300fps = very low input lag anyway ) just set a custom refresh rate at 300hz.

Input lag is not more important in cs2 than frame timing because cs2 has so poor frame timing that input lag is just a little fraction of frame pacing jitter and delay. In cs2 is everything botched and frame timing and pacing is not an exception.
IF he has 300fps avg. this means his frames are jumping from 120 to 360fps and his game will stutter even at 240Hz. Sad but true, with 480-500fps the game is smooth enough at my 280Hz, but with 300fps with "older" CPU it was stuttery as hell. The only thing which helps is reflex+gsync+vsync fast which will improve frame pacing and frame timing. But only if your fps dont drop below refresh rate too much, so it wont help much him at 300hz.
