Finally discovered the source of my unexplicable problems [WITH IMAGES]

Separate area for niche lag issues including unexpected causes and/or electromagnetic interference (ECC = retransmits = lag). Interference (EMI, EMF) of all kinds (wired, wireless, external, internal, environment, bad component) can cause error-correction latencies like a bad modem connection. Troubleshooting may require university degree. Your lag issue is likely not EMI. Please read this before entering sub-forum.

Finally discovered the source of my unexplicable problems [WITH IMAGES]

Post by stormdak1ng » 28 Jun 2024, 03:26

Hello, firstly I apologize for my English, I'm Brazilian and I'm using Google Translate.

I'm 24 years old and I've been playing FPS since I was 10 years old. I started playing CS 1.6. I have always been a very talented player. I started playing CS:GO in 2015, where I reached the highest rank in Valve matchmaking, and also on the Gamersclub platform that we have in Brazil. At the time when Luminosity Gaming/SK Gaming was the world champion, from time to time I would face players, FalleN, coldzera, etc. in the platform's ranked pro. I even beat coldzera when he was voted the best player in the world. At that time, I didn't have any problems with my PC. The mouse is always very smooth, without any input lag. Always very responsive. In 2018, I stopped playing to focus on college. I couldn't last long without playing, so I bought a new PC two years ago and that's where all the problems started. Input lag, mouse felt bad, had no reaction time, it seemed like everyone gave me prefire. It's funny that the first game I played, I was against gold players, and I was swearing they were cheating. LOL.

I couldn't take it anymore and started looking for what could be, I've done everything, I bought a whole new PC and nothing happened. It was then that I started to see that it could be something related to electricity, I decided to check every part of my house and found the problems. Here in Brazil, the energy leaves the electric company, passes through the street pole, arrives at the house pole and is connected to a meter. When I went to look at the meter, I couldn't believe what I was seeing. The neutral wire was literally fused with the live wire. The most unbelievable thing was that the house's power was working normally, nothing was faulty, except for those strange things with the PC. I immediately called the electrician, he looked at it, and said that this would be resolved by the company without any costs. Below I will leave a photo, the part where there is the black spot was where the short circuit was, they redid everything, changed the meter.

This problem also affected the house's distribution board, as you can see in the image below:

The electrician also needed to fix the panel, he replaced all the damaged wires, put connectors on the end that weren't there before, photo of the repaired panel below:

Detail: this panel has never been opened before, since the house was built 15 years ago, I was the first to open it.

After everything was fixed, my PC instantly became unrecognizable. It's as it was years ago, fully responsive, without input lag and without any strange problems.

If you've done everything and your problem still hasn't been resolved, check your home's electrical system. Attention: please be careful, you could even die from electrocution. Call an electrician to check each part, perhaps it could have something to do with the installation in your house as was my case. Thank you for your attention, if you have any questions, send me a message and I will respond.

Hey buddy i'm glad u fixed ur issue. i came across an article about a guy from brazil who tried everything and mentioned coldzera as well and even went to clubs and no fix im not sure if that is you. Anyway i wana ask couple questions please.

1) have you tested ur pc in different location when u had these's issue ?

2) when you had the issue's does moving / playing around with monitor power cable change the desync, input lag... ?

3) i live in algeria and power coming from street pole near me ( about 20 meters away to the meter ) the thing is the internet lines ( adsl ) coming from the same street pole and inside my house i have the telephone cable ( called 5/1 you can google it ) when i move the cable from other room it impact my monitor desync~input lag as well as monitor power cable by moving it with my hand. i asked around googling they say it's EMI/RFI from the air im not sure how this might be related to my meter. In anyway. I will call an electrcian and have my meter check out.

Ty bro!! :D No, that wasnt me hahah

1) No, i never tested, only in my house

2) For me that didnt worked

3) Thats a beautiful country!! Here in Brazil it is no longer common to use landlines, most people only use cell phones. This interference thing is something very complex, because it could be something that hasn't even been discovered yet, it could be anything that is causing this in some cities around the world. I live in a city in the interior of São Paulo, here is a place that doesn't have many inhabitants, there are few buildings, there is no pollution and there is still a large part of nature preserved, I believe that the energy here is clean.

Regarding the meter, here where I live, the box is sealed, and only an employee can open it. So how can residents find out if there is a problem with their meter? Do they need to wait for the house to catch fire before they can fix it? I was lucky that here it was without the seal, there was only a seal on the inside and I was able to discover the problem before anything worse could happen.

Do you have grounding in your house? How many days did you test after you fixed it? Could you make a gameplay video?

Not at all surprised by the initial cause of your problem, especially since you are playing in a country where the electrical infrastructure must be in a poor state

It looks like a cable was faulty and was creating significant interference or something?

I'm happy for you :) you will finally be able to regain all your sensations.

it's dismaying people who in 2024 can still neglect healthy electricity to have (in this case) have a computer that works perfectly

and it's astonishing the people who laugh and make fun of people who mention electricity as possibly being guilty.

The Blur Buster forum consistently number one on the various forums, testimonials, sharing etc... linked to electrical problems in IT.

Without this forum many people would still be in an investigation without answers or without leads.

Beyond that, we clearly realize through the origins of the people who post on this subject that the problem is global between Brazil, Eastern countries in Europe, Spain, France, Asia, etc. and this regardless of the state of development or industrialization of countries.

No, i dont have. Here where i live the neutral wire coming from energy company is already grounded, but protection grounding my house dont have(yet). I think its around 2 month, and still perfectly fine. Yup, ill try to do a gameplay video soon as possible. :)

Yes, in my case was definitely this, and even worse, cause here is 127v(one live wire and neutral wire), and, so, this two on the entrance meter off the house was completely fused. The electrician told me when this occurs, all of the point of the connection is affected, causing bad conductivity, heating, interference etc
