Lets hack BenQ AMA
I just recently bought the BenQ xl2411z.
I am very dissapointed with only 3 AMA settings: OFF / HIGH / PREMIUM
Off = Motion Blur
High = Coronas
Premium = More Useless Coronas
I think Asus got their "Trace Free" much better
Could there be a way to hack AMA on software level like you did with Blur Reduction? I think an AMA override hack is the most important thing we need right now!
TBH it is more needed than the Strobe Utility.
Maybe someone can do it? or maybe we can ask BenQ to do it.

You should ask Chief: something like this can easily be done through firmware. It *IS* doable because the 24" benqs use the EXACT SAME PANEL as the VG248QE.
All Benq has to do is add a GAIN setting in the service menu for AMA. Asus has one in their service menu: from 00 to 0F (15) hexadecimal. The base value was linked to the tracefree OSD setting (00, 03, 06, 09, 0c, 0f= 00, 20, 40, 60, 80, 100 for tracefree) but adjusting the gain applied a gain value without adjusting the OSD setting.
Example: setting 80 TF in OSD then setting OD gain to 03 in the service menu was NOT the same as setting tracefree to 20).

Yeah it sounds really easy.

If someone gets something done about this, I'll donate $5 (or some steam keys I have to spare). I'm serious.

Yeah I think most of the staff here is in close contact with some of the people at BenQ. Hopefully this message will get passed on.

That's a little mean... If things like strobelight applications were done then why not this? I think BenQ needs to correct this if it is possible not only because we wish it but to keep up with the rival. I don't really need to wish anything, I got 30 days to return this thing and grab the Asus if I wanted. But I wanna give this a wait and see if it is fixed.
About the colors the way I see it now, BenQ having better colors < Asus having better Tracefree. BenQ has a very nice build without the cheap glossy finish. That is why I am willing to give this a wait.
