The XL2430T is similiar to the XL2420Z, but supports the new BENQ Blur Reduction.

(A new version of Strobe Utility will be released soon to support the XL2430T).

Chief a few questions, can you give any details on the BBR 2.0 vs. BBR? Also any info if this will be a 8 bit panel I can't find any info? You think I should cancel my 2420z order as I still have to cancel today?

TIA

I'm really interested in the differences between BBR 1.0 and 2.0 too.

Just ordered a XL2420Z instead of the Iiyama Prolite GB2488HSU for this functionality.

As it's not shipped yet, I may change for a XL2430T if it worth it.

Hi Guys,

So I've taken the plunge and put an order in for this monitor, despite the lack of reviews so I'll let you know my impressions once it arrives.

I decided to pose 4 questions to BenQ support and I thought I would share the answers with everyone:

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Many thanks for contacting BenQ.

Please see below the answers to your questions:

- Although the specifications state that the display supports 16.7 millions colours, is
this using a 8-bit LUT or 6-bit + dithering (as was used on the BenQ XL2420Z)?

The 16.7 million colours is reached via 6bit+FRC

- Does this model ship with a firmware that allows for 3rd-party applications to modify
the Blur Reduction backlight behaviour (such as the Blur Busters tool)?

The T series does not allow third party software to be installed, although, inside the OSD menu there is an adjustment function for the Blur Reduction performance.

- Are you able to provide any details on what is different with the BenQ Blur Reduction 2
(e.g. does it have less impact on the brightness, improved the situation with crosstalk
etc...)?

The Blur Reduction 2 improves brightness when set on but when adjusting the intensity via OSD can slightly decrease the crosstalk performance.

- Very importantly - does the monitor continue the very-low input lag of between
1.5ms-2.5ms (N.B. this is different from the pixel response time); this aspect is critical
to my purchase decision?

Of course yes, the lag time level is the same (1.5ms - 2.5ms).

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chief - BenQ are saying the monitor won't be compatible with 3rd party utilities (unless their statement literally means you can't flash any software onto the monitor itself), however, it looks like the firmware / OSD menu of the of the monitor itself has some strobe / crosstalk tuning available. Are you guys still confident you can update the Blur Busters utility to support this monitor? :)

It is possible that BENQ has decided to build the tweakable settings directly into the monitor, making Blur Busters Strobe Utility unnecessary for this specific model. Once the monitor arrives on the market, we can find out if this is the case.

Any new information regarding this new BenQ XL2430T, especially regarding the quality of its adjustment functionality?

I've been looking for some in-depth review of it, not much success there. Can't decide between XL2420Z and XL2430T. The price difference (in my local shops at least) is absolutely negligible.

Hello,

The MotionBlurReduction of BenQ xl2430T operate below 100Hz !! ??

because I've seen a test (in french) :
http://www.lesnumeriques.com/moniteur-e ... /test.html
And apparently this is minimum 100Hz :

English version of the app claims otherwise. And as for French "est de 100Hz ou plus", I'd say it means exact opposite of what you're saying too.
