BenQ Display Pilot (A new placebo?)

Hi guys,

My nickname is Lv and i'm from Brazil. I am a "reader" of this forum for a long time now, but just now, maybe after years, i created my account and that is my first post.
To resume my story here, as many of you i am a hugh counter strike lover/player. And i have also some knowledge in eletronics in general, worked for years with automation in industry.
And yes, i like to play with tweaks, settings.. everything to make the game smoother or at least, "correct". Because for yeaars i have this feeling that my setup is not ok, since CSGO and now with CS2. So, i can tell that i have tried almost everything available in internet about this matter.. you name it: Bios settings, CPU and RAM overclocks, input lag tweaks, hit reg desync or whatever...

My setup is: Ryzen 5600x, 4060ti, BenQ XL2540 monitor (Since 2017 if im not wrong).

So, recently i have installed the DisplayPilot which actually i dont think is made for XL users, but there's a "Factory Reset" button in there. And yes, there's the placebo probably.. i clicked there and the monitor got reset, supposedly the same thing i can do with the monitor buttons and already did bunch of times...
But i dont know why, it feels different now. Hard to explain the feeling, and also to create a theory to explain that, but yes, i decided to share it because it feels way better to play know.

One thing that came to my eyes is that there are some information in DisplayPilot, especifically one that is called "Native Driver Date: 26/09/2024". I dont know which driver is that but i dont think it has some impact, cause if i change do another samsung monitor (my second one), the info about the driver stays the same, it's not exclusive for the XL, i can tell.

So, if any of you have this monitor or something similar and could give it a try and tell me that's only placebo.. :D

Ah, before i forget:
1) I decided to post it on Input Lag section instead of Benq section because i feel the impact more on the "lag" itself.
2) Sorry for some possible misspelling or anything, english is not my native.

BR,
Lv

I had a similar issue with my zowie 2411P, some people say it's related to the encoder bugging out and trying to keep up the render queue with continous errors. I figured out that sending some specific DDC commands would fix the issue for some time.

I really didn't want to bother myself anymore with this and switched monitor completely to a 2566k and the issues were gone after that, so it really depends on the monitor itself in my opinion

What symptoms did you have? Display delay, heavy mouse, ferrari peaks?
What happened after the fix? How long does the effect last?
Have you made changes using CRU or custom permission?

I have an xl2546 monitor, I don't know how much this fix will improve! I will try

Yes, it felt inconsistent to the point i can sometimes play nice in level 10 lobbies, and sometimes got smashed by level 6-7. And feeling like i got ferrari peeked everytime, like they see me first or something.. spraying feeling lagged. Now i feel way more consistent.. sometimes winning and loosing which ir normal, but the 'fights' during the game are feeling more fair, so to say.

As i said before, could be placebo and the 'before and after' are totally subjectives.. but give it a try..

That setting only resets the application settings for me, not the monitor settings. I also did the monitor factory reset within the factory menu, reset every possible thing and there was only this fleeting effect of lower input lag I am used to that fades away in minutes. These last few days I had everything regarding electronics: TV not turning on for a minute, devices not connecting to wifi (tried with both old and new router), my PC randomly booted only for the second time and today my keyboard completely stopped working until I did a CMOS reset. Before that I checked and I had no issues with any of the components. So maybe space aliens.

Resetting the settings in the BenQ Display Pilot utility did not affect the problem in any way
