Benq XL2411Z problem after firmware upgrade

Hi to everyone. I just upgraded my Benq XL2411Z from firmware V1 to V2 with the guide on this page using a MSTAR ISP upgrader. I checked in the service menu end it says V002. But the screen is not recognized by the Blur Busters strobe utility. I have noticed that the screen LED light ON/OFF in the lower right corner is always orange and not green like it used to be. Orange-stand by, green-turned on. In the guide for upgrade i didnt know how to do the 15. If your upgrade went successfully, your monitor will begin flashing solid colors in a burn-in test. To turn this off, turn off this mode by press the ENTER button and then RIGHT button on your Z-Series monitor to turn off burn-in mode. So i think the monitor stayed in some factory settings or something.

You need to turn off the burn in mode.
You should be able to do that by holding down the button above menu, while turning on the power button (the button that is above the button that enters the first service menu by this sequence; holding down menu when powering on lets you enter the normal service menu, and holding down ENTER when powering on lets you enter an alternate service menu, where you can do stuff like burnin test, color temperature, etc) and when the led's flash, release that button.
Then you can turn off the burnin menu

I have this issue now.

I've looked at the manual and it isn't obvious which is the ENTER button. Secondly the description given here talks about buttons that are 'above'. The button layout is horizontal!

The only button you can press while powering on is the 2nd from left that you use to get the service page up that displays the firmware version. Oddly it also mentions Power 0n + Menu to enter service mode in the service page. I assume that means the button next to power but you press that and power nothing happens.

Can someone please advise?

I don't have the 2411z.
But it's a two button cominbaton.
All you have to do is find out which 2 buttons when held down, will allow the monitor to power on while holding down the 2 buttons.
It really shouldn't take you more than 2 minutes to press any random 2 buttons (with the power off) until you find the correct code.

Someone in an earlier post found out which two buttons are for the factory menu on 2411Z, but I don't remember what they said or where their post is. So just mess around with combinations.

keep in mind that if there are touch sensitive buttons, you move to move your hand away from the sensor picking it up (the light doesn't auto illuminate) in order for new activations to work.

Also another thing:
If the monitor has been AC POWERED OFF (meaning, a hard power off), none of the factory or service menu codes will work. The monitor must first be powered on normally, then powered off by button (not by unplug), THEN the entry codes will work.
Found that out on my XL2720Z.

doh!

Figured it! When in burn in mode on 2411z there isn't a sequence you just power on and use the menu button; instead of getting the normal menu you get the service menu. use the buttons to tab around and turn burn in off. Then the blur buster tool sees the screens.

No idea what the original reply was for probably another model.

Anyway I've answered two threads with the correct solution with regard xl2411z upgrade. Please search my posts.
