Which display panel is right for me?

Post by l3gi0n » 02 Dec 2024, 17:54

My priorities:

  • Viewing angles
  • Color banding
  • VRR flicker

These priorities make me want to go with an IPS panel. I am looking at various LG and Samsung IPS monitors.

I am also looking at a Samsung 43" Odyssey Neo G7 G70NC Series. but this is a VA panel, and I have read that it has bad viewing angles and terrible VRR flicker?

Is there a good 43"+ IPS monitor(16:9)?

I am NOT looking for OLED because of image burn.

I think that if you didn't get an answer here it's because you already suspect the answer, you literally answer it yourself in fact: IPS.

Viewing angles already answer the thing (too much "answer" lmao !), TN have very bad viewing angles, VA don't have good viewing angles and i think nobody here will recommend you VA tbh.

So you have IPS or OLED, you mention Color Banding (you mean you want at least true 8bits/10bits ?) and you talk about VRR Flicker, i never use that but i think IPS/OLED are good with that ? i think it depend on the model.

You don't want OLED, so your only option is IPS or maybe (i say "maybe" a VA panel) but if you take a HUGE panel, to be honest, stay with IPS.
