Question about CRU (Custom Resolution Utility)
Question about CRU (Custom Resolution Utility)
im wondering if i change my Vertical Totals on CRU, if it will damage my monitor by having too high of Horizontal kHz and Pixel Clocks? i can see on CRU, it says my limits seem to be 330MHz and 160kHz, but even some default settings seem to exceed these numbers. ill attach some photos for reference. --->
the reason im asking, is because ive read some of the articles on this website about this, and im seeing the recommendation of increasing Vertical Totals, but with the photos they show of 1080p monitors, its showing 509MHz for pixel clock and 261kHz and thats whats confusing me because in this article, it is a 1080p monitor 120hz. my monitor is 1080p 144hz and CRU is telling me my limits are much much lower than this --->
id post a link to the blurbusters article but i cant post links so heres the title of the page: 'Blur Busters Strobe Utility Download & HOWTO for ViewSonic XG2431 240Hz 23.8″ IPS Monitor'
Re: Question about CRU (Custom Resolution Utility)
This is overclocking, basically. If the monitor accepts it and shows the image without artifacts, that is.
No guarantees about damage. I've been overclocking a 60Hz monitor a long time ago for years and almost 24/7 usage. It was fine. But again, no guarantees.
