About Valorant desync

Post by alp15eren » 10 Jan 2025, 05:46

Today I want to talk a little about Valorant and other games. I have been an experienced player in FPS games for about 13 years. I have played games like CS 1.6, CS:GO, CS2, COD, Battlefield, R6S, Apex Legends, Fortnite.

I was playing Warzone with more than 20 kills.
I was getting very high kd rates in multiplayer.

I am currently actively playing CS2, Apex Legends, Valorant.

I am Level 10 Faceit in CS2, Immortal in Valorant.

I play CS2 and Apex Legends very comfortably and have no problems. However, when it comes to Valorant, while some of my matches are perfect, I cannot even get a kill in some matches. As Immortal, sometimes I cannot react to silver, sometimes I can easily defeat radiants. I do not experience input lag, only sometimes I cannot see the guys. I do not have ping or packet loss. I tested it with Pingplotter. I honestly enjoy playing Valorant but this problem is extremely annoying.

Sometimes my cross is on the guy's head and he doesn't die. While I complain about why he doesn't die, my teammates say I didn't aim the cross at him. Or vice versa, sometimes my teammates experience the same thing. When my teammate shoots at him from his own screen, when I watch him, I see that he's not aiming at the guy.

I changed 4 different ISP for this. A new computer with all the equipment. I moved to different houses in the same city 3 times. Finally, I moved to a different city.

I tried playing with unmodified Bios + Windows.
I tried playing with optimized windows. (I'm watching Latencymon and xperf. I assigned GPU and Ethernet to different cores)

I repeat, I don't experience input lag. My game runs very smoothly. I only have problems with seeing guys late in some matches in Valorant. When this problem occurs, the bullets I shoot never hit.

It's networking.

Your net is not running 24/7 perfectly and this will showcased on your games when you notice it.

For many, this happens at different times and the best is usually in the morning, when many people are in your area or generally not online, you should have the best gaming experience. You have no influence on this and this “delay” cannot be shown via ingame indicators. However, you can feel it when it is there and there is nothing you can do about it except move to a place where it is unlikely to occur.

Very few people in the world have a good network to make it out of silver at all. They have this delay 24/7 and will never be able to perform in any game online.

Almost nobody actually knows this because many players think that network ping is everything, but it's not. You can't see many things that affect your network. You can only feel it, the way you feel it. The problem is that the majority will think you're looking for excuses and don't believe that the internet can have such a huge impact on a game.

I remember when my Internet was broken and for six months I received from 20% to 60% loss all the time. But this did not affect the movement of the mouse or the smoothness of the picture. It's strange, but I could do one-taps, and the enemy didn't even see me.

As I said, I don't have this problem in different games regardless of the time. Frankly, I think this problem is not caused by my computer or my internet, but by the server I'm playing on. If my internet is bad, logically I would have the same problems in other games. For example, if I can't even see players when I go to 5/16 in Valorant at the same hours, but I'm playing 18/15 in Faceit, the cause of the problem is clear to me.

I tried different cities, different countries, different computers, different internet providers. For example, in the photo I shared, all 4 of these matches took place in 1 hour. There was no difference in my internet usage. The problem here is not that I played badly. I couldn't even see players in the 1st and 4th matches. They were shooting without coming out of the wall. In the 2nd and 3rd matches, everything was as it should be.

Not only an Immortal thing...

watch silvers plays and you will understand how bad it can be and this experience that you describe with aim and random hit registration and the feel like you playng as an NPC who cant do nothing against that shit and the whole match completely rigged by this shit... :lol

but there will be always some 12 and 15 years in your match who just run and gun you away and all your team...and meanwhile you try to understand and figure out how the FUCK he doing this and why he has such advantage over everyone...and even with worse ping than you.

the fun thing is...i saw too clips of guys who has packetloss going on for whole match and they even visual lagged but there hitreg and everything was still on point and it dont affect them at all and there gameplay and they feel good normal even with this...

crazy or ? but that is real story.

i myself had such exprience too...game was completely lag and shit but atleast i could hit someone and finally make some kills (even on long distance it started to connect my hits) and i was dont more that useless in team as usually when just nothing or random hitregs and completely bullshit desync happens and unplayable NPC state...

here watch this:

two different players two diffrent esports experience at same day...

fantastico magic world of skill.

edit:
but the other side and coin of this all desync and hitreg issues is...

if you get yourself such a match where you in such advantage over all others...then you can litereally see and feel from round 1 that enemy cant do nothing against you and like completely bots with no reaction time and you literally can go just pistol every round without even buy shields when this happens on your side and if you notice this POWER of SKILL moment...

Can you provide a video? I never saw a desync video where the person playing is actually hitting their shots, the videos the person above provided also shows nothing. It could be just your own perception decieving you

After losing so much, I guess the fairies gave me a chance. All of these matches were played in 1 day. Many people think I'm exaggerating, but if there's no problem with level 10 in faceit but I die without even seeing the other person in valorant, the problem is caused by the game.

Why do you think they don't bring an in-game replay system? Riot is aware of this. Because more people will complain about this situation.

Outside of the network issues that occur, I do believe that certain accounts can have issues (googling smurf account will show you results of people saying their smurf accounts run smoother and enemies are slower)

I've seen this across multiple games, and I've experienced it in Apex a lot where I noticed when it was bad, my data was being routed through the US even though I'm EU. Had a few times where the game has been running lovely and 'easy' for me in harder ranks, to when the mid season split happens and suddenly I'm dying fast to poor players.

For the life of me I couldn't work out why it's doing it, if it's on purpose or if it's some bug related to some accounts.

Before Valorant and Xbox Game Pass came into play, I used to play on new accounts all the time to try out new characters in the game. I remember those times and it was like you said. Enemies were slower and it was easier to react. I guess it could be something done to make the game easier to get used to. Otherwise, a new player wouldn't play if they experienced something ridiculous like this.

I didn't experience the problem you experienced in Apex Legends. I don't play Apex competitively, I just have fun.
