Advice for LG OLED55C46LA with console gaming

Hi there, this is my first post. I hope this is the right place to ask this. :)

For the last 10 years I’ve been using a Panasonic plasma TV for console gaming and loved the motion clarity it provided especially when games ran at 60 fps consistently. It was very close to CRT smoothness IMO and even games that were 30 fps still looked great.

After buying a PS5 I decided it was time to upgrade and I started researching OLEDs. I eventually decided on getting the LG OLED55C46LA and for the most part I am happy with the results playing PS5 through it.

However, I can’t help but feel like I was spoilt with the motion clarity of the plasma as even with OLED motion turned on (which I’ve read is also called black frame insertion? Please correct if I’m wrong) alongside the game optimiser mode, even games that I know run consistently at 60fps have a slight blur to them when moving the camera fast. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not awful by any means, it’s just one of those things that once you notice it’s hard to ignore.

I thought it might have been game specific but to make sure, I tested the PS5 on the plasma also and I can’t ignore the difference in motion smoothness when moving the camera quickly.

Has anyone else had experience with LG OLED’s for console gaming and know of any other tweaks or changes I can make to improve the motion further?

Thanks! :)

You'll need to get used to it :P

I'm on PC and always target 90FPS in games because of that. I targetted 120FPS in the past with my old LCD display, but OLED is a bit better in this so 90FPS is "good enough." But 60FPS isn't gonna be as good as a Plasma or CRT when it comes to motion clarity, even on an OLED.
