Would rlly appreciate some help with getting the right flip model on my game

Post by awuhdlaui » 25 Feb 2025, 21:09

Hey guys, would just like some help with making my game run with Hardware composed : independent flip instead of hardware : independent flip as I have read that it's better. Always searching for the best mouse feel for games like cs2 and valorant and hope this will help a bit more with that.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\System\GameConfigStore\Children\ -> Search (VALORANT-Win64-Shipping.exe) -> Flags -> 211

You want?
Hardware composed : independent flip
I often do not clearly state my thoughts. google translate is far from perfect. And in addition to the translator, I myself am mistaken. Do not take me seriously.

Hey, I tried this on cs2 and it made my game run in Hardware : legacy flip. I remember watching a video about the reg edit, pretty sure it just disables fullscreen optmizations.

In the attachment it says to achieve hardware composed : independent flip that i need directflip optimizations. ahh just realised that it says i need multi plane overlay enabled but I thought i did. pretty sure i do have it enabled unless i somehow disabled it in a tweak? Would you happen to know a way to force MPO?

yeah. Just looked around and seen that its apparently better, you should be able to see the image of the different flip models in my reply to the other guy above. Its saying that i dont have mpo enabled but it doesnt make sense, because im pretty sure I do. unless its outdated.

"Hardware composed: independent flip" is what I get with MPOs enabled. "Hardware: independent flip" is with MPOs disabled (due to HDR or DSR.)

That's on Windows 10 though.

do you think that using scaling, like stretching 4:3 in cs or valorant would effect it? Is there a way to tell if mpo's are enabled or not?

I use SKIF (SpecialK's GUI frontend) to check it:

Reminder for anyone attempting to use SK:
Special K does not work in games which use a kernel-level anti-cheat and may trigger a ban, as it injects into the process itself.

The alternative is, use PresentMon to find out the flip mode of a game.
