LCD inversion artifacts on my first ulmb/high hz TN panel

Ask about motion blur reduction in gaming monitors. Includes ULMB (Ultra Low Motion Blur), NVIDIA LightBoost, ASUS ELMB, BenQ/Zowie DyAc, ToastyX, black frame insertion (BFI), and now framerate-based motion blur reduction (framegen / LSS / etc).

LCD inversion artifacts on my first ulmb/high hz TN panel

Post by brookeefps » 21 Jun 2025, 18:34

I just picked up my first high hertz TN panel last week (the ROG 540hz pg248qp) and noticed some odd vertical lines during fast side to side motion or strafing while moving my mouse in the opposite direction. I was concerned my GPU was having issues until I did some research and discovered these are LCD inversion artifacts (I had a 240hz IPS before this).

I have no real frame of reference for what a high hz TN ULMB2 panel should look like, does anyone have a picture or video showing a normal or acceptable level of these artifacts so I can tell if my panel is within standard levels?
