Monitors with Matte Coating are Putrid Monstrosities
I rather chop off my left nut than ever go back to these nasty matte coating monitors, they are putrid abominations.
Thank god ASUS released a GLOSSY OLED and that all QD-OLED come with Glossy coating, thank fcking god the era of these nasty matte is over.
I literally spent $700 USD for an OLED just so I can avoid this nasty matte coating with it's nasty haze and putrid oily look, I didn't even buy it for the OLED I spent $700 just to get a glossy coating the fact that it was OLED came after.
I see Acer grew a brain and their new Predator 32" G-Sync Pulsar 5K gaming monitors are full glossy it will be the world's first glossy LCD gaming monitor and no "dough" doesn't count that brand is a scam they just put a glossy coating over the matte shit.
I don't understand why companies would put Vaseline smeared shit over an LCD then call it "Anti Glare" as if it's some kind positive thing, yet every single device Apple makes are all Glossy. Apple knows what is quality, matte is nastiness of the highest order.

Re: Monitors with Matte Coating are Putrid Monstrosities
Like if you use a matte screen in a bright room it spreads the reflection all over the surface turning black into some kind of nasty white light gray and sometimes making it impossible to see anything with the nasty haze it creates.
Then if you use it in a dim room, the blacks are now black but whites have this nasty oily spotty look
None of these issues are present in Glossy at least with Glossy I can just control the lighting in the room and even if there are a couple reflections it's still perfectly fine and the image in glossy always looks so much sharper, more color contrast it pops so much more it's so much inkier.
What companies can do is ship with glossy coating and put a nasty optional matte screen protector for people who like to experience nastiness. They can call it "Matte screen protector peel and apply for the Vaseline smeared shit look"

I often do not clearly state my thoughts. google translate is far from perfect. And in addition to the translator, I myself am mistaken. Do not take me seriously.

That video is 6 years old with an older monitor. Unfortunately it is not that easy. I think they do not even apply to oleds.
One thing i do agree with in the post. I do think manufacturers should just ship em glassy and a matte screen protector you can add if bothered

You CANNOT do this with modern monitors as it will strip off the polarizer and destroy the entire thing.
Lot's of people tried to remove their dreaded nasty matte coating and destroyed their monitors.

There's nothing wrong with matte monitors lol. I don't want my screen to be a mirror with constantly having to focus on a reflection and what's on screen.
Glossy is only great if you're sat in the dark with no light on getting eye strain.

Re: Monitors with Matte Coating are Putrid Monstrosities
Thats a big misconception. Specifically what prevents eye strain is looking at different distances triggering different.eye muscles. Allowing the others to rest. Having the lights on is useless if you aren't looking off into the distance every few minutes - 20min.
Either way i suggest you watch the video above before you get angrily scolded by supermodel_evelynn for that massive lie based of no evidence. Even if the eye strain claim was true, the benefits massively outweigh the downside. Looking at the evidence

Anything can be broken. Buy polarizing film and stick it on your monitor if you damaged the factory one. It's no more difficult than sticking a film on a smartphone.Supermodel_Evelynn wrote: You CANNOT do this with modern monitors as it will strip off the polarizer and destroy the entire thing.
