XL2566K feel better at 240Hz than 360Hz – is this normal?

Hi everyone,
I'm currently playing competitive PUBG and I've noticed my FPS fluctuates quite a bit – anywhere between 180 and 450 FPS depending on the situation. My system specs are:
CPU: Ryzen 7 7800X3D
GPU: RTX 4070 Super
Monitor: Zowie XL2566K (playing at 1728x1080 resolution)
Overlay: Using RTSS for monitoring
Now here's the thing – even though I have a 360Hz monitor, it actually feels better when I set the refresh rate to 240Hz. At 360Hz, I feel like there's more input or display lag, and everything feels slightly off. Is this something others have experienced? Is it normal?
I'm also wondering:
If I run my monitor at 240Hz, am I wasting the potential of the XL2566K?
Would it make sense to tweak my settings with lower Hz and higher Vertical Totals to improve motion clarity or reduce latency?
Unfortunately, I don’t fully understand how to tweak VT or whether that would help in PUBG specifically. I’d really appreciate any advice on how I should set up my monitor – or if I should just leave it at 360Hz even though it doesn’t feel quite right.
Looking forward to your tips and insights – thanks in advance!

If you fps are not averaging 360+ it's quite normal it would feel better at 240 because it's more stable at that refresh rate.
No you are not wasting the potential of the xl2566k, it's not a big difference anyway.
I don't know that application but does it get red when you use 359-358 ? The actual refresh rate is 1-2 lower.

If the cru program shows "range limits" via DisplayPort, then the monitor will always have a delay like when adaptivesync is enabled. Even if it is disabled via the monitor and in the driver. And it will never work clearly, even like the old 60hz monitors, where there were no "range limits". Why did such a reputable company as benq add range limits to the monitor's edid in principle? If it is disabled? Just to have an extra delay? I don't understand. This is the worst implementation of vrr at the edid monitor level, which makes your mouse float and change its sensitivity. If you manually delete the "range limits" you will see how the game should really work, but it will only work until the reboot, then it will get even worse than it was. The only monitor I've found that works properly and doesn't have “range limits” is the Samsung odyssey g4 g40b 240hz, so far the best I've seen is that it works the same way as the old benq zowie 2411p 144, which also didn't have a cheap gsync analog in the edid monitor. For everyone who shows range limits in cru, you will never be able to achieve a perfect result, because this is an adaptive link that does not turn off. And with sharp turns, you will tear up the picture and everything will float.

I have the same feeling on the same monitor. Hdmi 240hz is better than dp 360hz, even thought my fps goes below 400.
