Need a True Flicker-Free 360Hz Monitor — No Gimmicks

Post by Pribue1 » 12 Oct 2025, 22:03

Hey folks,
I’m upgrading my old 240Hz setup and want a 360Hz monitor with zero flicker or strobing. No DyAc, no Motion Blur Reduction — just clean, consistent performance and good colors for competitive play.
Which models actually deliver the smoothest “raw” experience?

Without VRR, that would be any OLED display.

I'm not aware what particular target the "Flicker-free" standard encompasses, but, if you want to be truly free of any light flicker perceptible to humans... then “Flicker-free” and OLED cannot be put in the same sentence.

There's still the ~15% brightness drop related to the display scan-out, in particularly related to the internal capacitance of the OLED driver.

LCD's are able to maintain <5cd/m2 luminance oscillations, in comparison.

The overwhelming majority of displays released in the last decade, especially +240Hz ones, are “flicker-free” if LCD.
I'd wait for the PG27AQNR or the Q25G4SR successor (model with 24" QHD 360Hz panel should be coming some time in 2026) as a good upgrade path from your current display.

Hey kyube. I read the g sync pulsar module (created in collab with mediatek) was tied with the nvidia n1x chip.... Which uhh seems to have been delayed to late 2026. Just like g sync pulsar was suppose to be a thing this year.
https://www.tomsguide.com/computing/cpu ... now-so-far

It might e a good idea to not expect the asus PG27AQNR to come out at all. Or atleast those monitors will have different versions.
I have been waiting for news on the acer Acer Predator XB323QX since last year. As entertainment since i dont think i can afford it. So far it seems like the newly anounced Acer Nitro XV270X which is a 27 inch 5k 72hz /2k 144hz will come out first in q1 2026. I wonder if the former will even come out at all or will they rebrand it with another name and no g sync pulsar. (Also i never knew the KTC h27p3 5k60hz 2k 120hz for $650 was a thing. Wtf why isn't it known.)

I believe the chipset in question is the Mediatek MT9810 as per TFTCentral
Not related to the N1X chip.

Unfortunately from an article posted the same week as that one. The PG27AQNR was suppose to release q4 2024. It is q4 2025 now and there has no news at all. https://tftcentral.co.uk/news/asus-anno ... z-pg27aqnr

From that article the acer Predator XB273U F5 is another 1440p 360hz gsync pulsar. The last acknowledgment was in september 2024 alongside another monitor. https://news.acer.com/acer-unleashes-th ... technology that monitor a regular 4k 160hz ips display, the Predator XB273K V5 has since come out. (Or atleast i think it has. The amazon listing has it named V5 but the bestbuy is called V6. https://www.amazon.com/Predator-FreeSyn ... B0DTMDVQ9J

As for the mediatek 9810. According to this user https://old.reddit.com/r/ultrawidemaste ... o/mrkya94/ the dell AW3225QF uses it. That monitor launched almost 2 years ago.
Whatever the issue is. Nvidia just doesn't seem to have it ready. If it wasn't for the acer Acer Predator XB323QX being a 5k 144hz display. I would be willing to blame Nvidia much more. But no other 5k high refresh monitors exist. So surely the story isn't as simple as g sync pulsar isn't ready yet.

Im learning 8k 120hz tvs are a thing. So maybe that 5k display will be out next year.
