Hello,
I'm currently using a Benq monitor (1080p 600hz tn) and I'm thinking about upgrading when the new asus monitor releases (1440p 540hz oled) and I had a couple questions...
1) If I can only get 200-300 fps at 1440p will motion blur/ghosting be much worse than my current monitor? (I don't use dyac it makes me feel sick)
2) Since 1440p 540hz largely depends on DSC without DP 2.1 graphics card, will the input lag be worse?
Question about Asus 1440p 540hz OLED
Re: Question about Asus 1440p 540hz OLED
There's no "motion blur" (eye-tracked, other than pixel visibility time itself) nor "ghosting" (caused by slower-than-refresh-rate-requires G2G RT's) on OLED.Whosmysterious wrote: ↑05 Nov 2025, 11:221) If I can only get 200-300 fps at 1440p will motion blur/ghosting be much worse than my current monitor? Both of those terms describe the scenario where G2G RT values are > MPRT target.
OLED is the only technology with perfect representation of refresh rate (no G2G RT limit up to 2000Hz)
You should see a major improvement over the 600Hz TN.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry, I'm not good with the terms lol. Basically I've seen people say that tn looks smoother than oled at high refresh rates (better motion clarity) so wanted to look into it. I'm a competitive gamer so that's my main concern coming from the 600hz tn.kyube wrote: ↑05 Nov 2025, 12:26There's no "motion blur" (eye-tracked, other than pixel visibility time itself) nor "ghosting" (caused by slower-than-refresh-rate-requires G2G RT's) on OLED.Whosmysterious wrote: ↑05 Nov 2025, 11:221) If I can only get 200-300 fps at 1440p will motion blur/ghosting be much worse than my current monitor? Re: Question about Asus 1440p 540hz OLED
I tested the 500hz QD-OLED and the text clarity was awful. I personally wouldn't bother buying any OLEDs until they finally resolve the subpixel layout issue. I don't think you're getting your money's worth. Any form of text or anything with a noticeable outline will just look bad.
I can't remember if I used HDMI or DP but it felt fine playing at 500hz, I can't say it felt 'delayed' or out of place.
