PG27AQDP 240hz Stuck

Hello! I’ve had the PG27AQDP for a few months now and I’ve always had an issue with it mainly while playing counter strike 2. Sometimes from time to time when I change my in-game resolution the monitor will lose DP signal, and I will need to unplug the monitor and once I plug it back in it will come back with signal but then it’s stuck on 240hz the 480hz option isn’t even available. Usually just turning off the monitor and letting it sit for an hour will eventually bring back the 480hz option. No monitor settings change DSC still enabled. Ever setting that’s on/off when I’m on 480hz stays the same when stuck in 240hz. I’ve updated firmware multiple times.

7800x3d
EVGA RTX 3080 12GB
not running HDR
running default color bit

I notice when this happens if I swap to HDMI 2.1 the 480hz option is back

Do we think with 1440p 480hz on dp 1.4 we are just right at the edge of bandwidth, and the monitor sometimes has an issue pushing those numbers?

using cables provided with monitor.

It happens maybe 1-2 twice a week

This is very common with cheap included cables.

Replace the cable with a higher quality thicker cable with gold plated connectors. That fixed problems.

Also try a different GPU port + try a different port on monitor. Those jacks may just happen to have shorter circuit traces and keep signal better.

Also keep the cable AWAY from power bricks, motors, transformers. Transformers, drying machines, lamp bases, WiFi routers, anything that emits inteference (they produce mini EMP pulses that kills a video signal temporarily). Just like the LG 5K WiFi router problem years ago, the problem is not 100% solved when you're milking 80 gigabits over copper. Try to move computers & equipment away from your cable wire.

Some other digital hygeine:

Also, OS bugs and drivers can contribute too (less often), like DSC bugs. Upgrade firmware on monitors & drivers on GPU to keep it as glitch free as possible.

I had weird problems too, especially with cheaper less-shielded cables:
- Turning on/off a desk lamp with an old cheap chinese LED = my picture went out (The desk lamp was flush against the back of my monitor). Once I replaced the bulb with a high quality brand, the problems disappeared.
- Booting up a 2nd computer = caused my monitor to black out. The problem was because my display cable was touching the other computer's power supply. Apparently inducted interference.
