Where do you find these information about c1?Baron of Sun wrote: ↑09 Jan 2026, 02:58C1 had rolling scan because it was able to do sub-refresh updates on its panel.
C2 and all later models have standard BFI because LG Display removed the capability to do sub-refresh panel updates, probably to reduce costs.

Standard bfi mean insert a black frame ?
How about bfi of sony x900e?standard backlight strobe on off led backlight?
Does quest 2 vr standard backlight strobe?how does it achive 0.3ms clarity even better than crt? Compared to 120hz bfi of c1 only get 4ms clarity?
Can you share more about line buffer anf scan out type of c1?are they built in good shit in c1?
Can you provide source about sub refresh updated?
Are they top of bfi type?
Does rolling scan of c1 same as pvm2541's flicker free to use rolling scan to reduce 24p frame hold time blur from instant response time of oled?

Here is a video showing it. Standard BFI is only capable of darkening the entire screen until the next frame overwrites it. Rolling scan with variable height of the dark area is only possible with sub-refresh panel updates.
I think as soon as the TV allows for more than 1 Motion Pro setting, it's a hint it is sub-refresh because standard BFI is restricted to the maximum panel refresh. If the panel refreshes at max 120 Hz and has no sub-refresh strobing or rolling scan, it is just possible to do 60 Hz strobing at 60 fps. This is why the C2, C3 and so on only have the Motion Pro setting On and Off, and no Low, Medium and High. For LCD I assume most do backlight strobing, and this is mostly independent on the max panel refresh because it is related to the state updates of the liquid crystals and not to the updates of the backlight, these are two different processes.
