Just know that i feel your pain… I’ve dealt with this shit for 8 years living in my old appartment.
Floaty fucking mouse all the fucking time, sometimes worse than others, keyboard inputs don’t make sense (if you play alot of KZ you willl understand).
Just moved to an appartment built in 2013, everything feels modern, floor heating, thick walls. the diffrence in quality is night and day.
Reading on this forum has honestly increased my braindamage, there are so many posts that are so full of shit, i can see why people outside are looking at us like we’re a bunch of delusional morons.

The irony of all this is that you can litteraly go into any AI prompt, be that chatgpt or copilot, and get a very extensive explaination of why you’re NOT crazy, the only reason people don’t talk about it more is because it’s a very difficult problem to diagnose with evidence. That’s it.

Even some admins on this forums, who seem to know alot about it, still have the balls to tell you that it’s most likely not due to bad electricity, while anyone that actually knows what they are talking about, will understand that having outdated electricity grid, shared groups, and what not, can in fact have a huge impact on everything we’re going through

Age of the building as such probably has nothing to do with this, unless the wires are literally so old that they are already corroded...those cables are meant to be used for a very, very long time, even a 100 year old metal copper wires would techically still work fine if they are not corroded or physically damaged by something, so I don't thnik that our problem is simply "you have old house, old wiring = bad", it must be something else, probably faulty neutral.

You simply moved to the area where the grid is newer and used by less people so everything works better - for now, because it might become bad in a couple of years as well, when more buildings will be connected to your grid or when the transformer will become overused.

I've tried my PC and monitor in one apartment building from the 1960s, still original wires through the entire building, never upgraded or properly maintained, wall sockets were last replaced in the 1990s, it is so outdated that they only have one single wall socket in every room, so they need multiple power strips everywhere, even in kitchen and bathroom...but guess what? My PC worked perfectly fine there, I couldn't believe this shit.

I'm definetly not going to claim to know how this shit works, or that the age of an appartmentcomplex has a guaranteed impact, however based on everything i found there is a much smaller chance of this happening in modern buildings that are built to very high standards, requirements for electrical installations here in the Netherlands have improved significantly over the past 30 years, i'm not sure how it is for other coutnries. Also i moved like 5 km away, the grid has nothing to do with it.

5 km? In bigger cities, pretty much every street has its own transformer substation (own grid), of course the grid has impact. Over the distance of 5 km there are probably as many as 10 substations in between.

If the problem is internal electric installation and not the gird, there are only 2 possible causes - high impendence due to corrosion or wire damage, or floaty neutral wire - and both can be easily checked with multimeter / ohm meter.

There are people on this forum which claimed that they paid for entire house re-wiring, new sockets, new distribution boxes, everything new, and the problem persisted...because the grid stayed the same.
