I was wondering what would happened if I sync polling rate to fps so I did it.
I don't have any special software and was only eyeballing the results and they seem to be in perfect framepacing. 125fps with 125hz polling rate, feels like 1000hz polling with 165fps.
System spec:
win11
rtx4080s
i7 13700kf
msi z790
ddr5 6400 cl32
settings
Game: marvel rivals
Mouse: razer basilisk 3
Fps locker: RTSS locked at 125fps
Monitor: samsung neo g7, gsync on, vsync on.
I wanted to try different polling rate but couldn't find a way to manually set polling to lower than 125hz on my mouse. It's only 125, 500 and 1000. Would be interesting to see what 60fps with 60 polling feels like, or other rates. I tried unlocking fps to vsync (165fps) and it feel a lot more juttery than locked 125fps. It's weird.
Maybe someone more knowledgeable with special software can test it out and share their findings?

Re: I sync my mouse polling to my fps
It's almost impossible to synchronize ISR interval (colloquially referred to as 'polling rate' of a USB device) to a display's refresh rate.
Buy a +500Hz TN or OLED and forget about such endeavours.
External frame rate limiters add a 1–2 frames of latency penalty to your total system latency pipeline.
At a 125FPS limit, that'd be 8–16ms of added input latency (if RTSS Async, RTSS Back-edge or RTSS Front-Edge)
Use Reflex's autocap, NV Reflex & NVLimiterV3 (the latter is only good when Reflex is enabled) or use the in-game limiter.

Re: I sync my mouse polling to my fps
wow, interesting run it with gsync 125hz stable / 125 fps (locked by vsync), interval 8 mouse.
