UFO test for monitor purchase

I’m looking for a 24" 1080p monitor mainly for work, with USB-C and 65W power delivery. I also do some gaming, and I want to make sure it’s adequate for that too. I’ve found some suitable models but reviews for business monitors usually don’t cover gaming performance at all.

I’m actually fine with my current monitor for gaming. The new one just shouldn’t be worse than my current one (a 15-year-old Dell U2312HM).

Is it possible to visually compare basic gaming performance using some of the UFO tests (e.g. visible ghosting, smearing, motion blur)?

That would mean viewing the same UFO test pattern on the new monitor and on the old one. If the new monitor looks equal or better than the old one, that’s fine with me. If not, I’ll look for another model.

Does this make sense, or are the UFO tests not suitable for this?
