XG2431 vs ASUS Pulsar (ULMB2 @ 60Hz) – Input Lag Comparison (Bodnar vs RTINGS?)

Post by Angel Soler » 31 Mar 2026, 05:30

Hi everyone,

I’m currently trying to understand the real input lag differences between two monitors in a very specific scenario, and I’d really appreciate feedback from people who have tested both.

I own a ViewSonic XG2431, and using a Leo Bodnar tester, I consistently measure around 16.4 ms in the center of the screen with strobing enabled at 60 Hz.

Now I’m looking into the ASUS ROG Strix Pulsar (with ULMB2 at 60 Hz), and I’ve seen measurements from RTINGS and other sources showing roughly:

- ~19.3 ms (Pulse Width 100)
- up to ~25.3 ms (Pulse Width 10)

My main question is:

Are these values directly comparable to a Leo Bodnar center measurement?
Or is there something fundamentally different in the way RTINGS / LDAT-style measurements should be interpreted?

Also, for those who have actually used both monitors:

- Have you noticed a real difference in input lag at 60 Hz with strobing / ULMB2?
- Does the ASUS feel noticeably slower than the XG2431?
- Or is the difference negligible in practice?

I’m particularly interested in 60 Hz gaming scenarios (e.g. console games like Zelda), where motion clarity is important but input latency is still a concern.

Any hands-on comparisons or measurements would be extremely helpful.

Thanks in advance!

They’re not directly comparable. Bodnar measures a fixed point including scanout timing, while RTINGS/LDAT captures a broader signal-to-photon latency and can vary with methodology. In practice, the ASUS may feel slightly slower at lower pulse widths, but at 60 Hz the difference is usually small unless you’re very sensitive.

Thanks a lot for your reply, I really appreciate it.

I’m quite sensitive to input lag, so this is something I care about a lot.

Another member on the forum is currently testing the Asus with ULMB2 at 60 Hz, so I’ll be following those results closely.
