Discord "Go Live" not playing well with Gsync

Also posted to the GSYNC thread on here, but no answers as of yet. I've also opened a ticked with discord, and no answers almost a month in :(

I have a 180 hz MSI G274QPF E2, and have been using the variable refresh rate function on it. I’ve noticed that anytime I try and stream something via Discord, I get a noticeable spike in input lag. This spike does not happen if I disable VRR.

Is this something that can be fixed, or is this a result of the way discord interacts with the way my monitor handles VRR? My current settings when using VRR: VRR: On (monitor settings) | GSync compatibility: Windowed + Fullscreen (NVCP)| Vsync: On (NVCP)| FPS limiter set at 171 fps (NVCP)

Anyone have any clues to this? I’ve tried these fixes:

-Running discord as admin
-Disabling GPU hardware acceleration in discord
-Disabling/Enabling DLL injection in discord
-Changing power management for discord via windows settings
-A myriad of other Hail Marys, however I’m open to more lol

PC specs:
Nvidia RTX 4070 Super
Ryzen 7 7800X3D
32 GB Toughram DDR5
2 TB NVMe M. 2 SSD

Might be the discord overlay that messes up things if MPOs are disabled or can't be used. I assume streaming doesn't work if you disable the Discord overlay completely?

Thanks for the reply! I’ve should have mentioned in the OP, but my testing thus far has been with the discord overlay completely disabled (at least as much as I can disable in discords settings). Streaming does still work with it disabled.

I’ve tried disabling MPO, but that introduced some weirdness with GSYNC working at all when attempting to stream gameplay :(
