Hey guys,
Trying to get 1440p 360Hz running without DSC on my XG27AQDPG to force Independent Flip in CS2. I've already flipped the DSC off in the monitor OSD, but I’m hitting a wall getting Windows to actually take it. The bandwidth is totally fine, but NVCP just throws a "not supported" error and the entry vanishes from CRU after I run restart64.
For those of you who have gotten this working, how are you handling the EDID?
Are you putting the 360Hz entry in a specific block (CTA vs DisplayID) to get it to stick?
Are you wiping all the default detailed resolutions to stop the driver from overriding it?
Did you have to mess with specific timings or pixel clocks (like standard CVT-RB vs v2) to get the handshake to go through?
Appreciate any insight on getting this to work. Thanks.

DSC doesn't prevent your game from entering Hardware: Independant Flip. That's related to your in-game settings instead.ekajjj wrote: ↑14 Jun 2026, 03:41Trying to get 1440p 360Hz running without DSC on my XG27AQDPG to force Independent Flip in CS2. The bandwidth is limited at the display's scaler IC level, as per RTINGS review.
You likely cannot achieve +300Hz on that model.

It does tho, I have a 4070 FE and with DSC enabled MPO is forced off. So composed flip is what you get regardless of Fullscreen Borderless or Fullscreen.

MPO off gets your game from Hardware Composed: Independant Flip to Hardware: Independant Flip
You likely applied some redundant registry edit to your OS.
I haven't seen a single person online claim that DSC prevents them from achieving HW:IFlip.
How did you verify that your game is in Composed: Flip? What software did you use?
I suggest that you rely on .csv-based solutions, such as FrameView or PresentMon. Don't rely on overlays.

Re: 1440p 360Hz w/o DSC (HDMI 2.1)
I have MPOs disabled and get "Hardware Independent Flip". Unless an overlay prevents it (for example the Discord overlay does this, even when it's not actually visible.) Disabling the overlay completely in Discord's settings fixes it.

Do you have 500hz and DSC on a 40 series? I've heard 50 series can support both DSC and MPO but I'll try that if that is what you suggest

Re: 1440p 360Hz w/o DSC (HDMI 2.1)
I'm not forcing it off, it is on by default. But it is turned off when DSC is applied. I can confirm this by checking via presentmon in CS2 or other games and dropping refresh to 240 and disabling dsc on monitor level. Then independent flip showskyube wrote: ↑14 Jun 2026, 07:57MPO off gets your game from Hardware Composed: Independant Flip to Hardware: Independant Flip

Re: 1440p 360Hz w/o DSC (HDMI 2.1)
Per screenshots below, with DSC on at 500hz, No MPO. DSC off, max 240hz, MPO works. No other changes. Independent Flip becomes avaialble then.
