Variable V-Sync?

Ask about motion blur reduction in gaming monitors. Includes ULMB (Ultra Low Motion Blur), NVIDIA LightBoost, ASUS ELMB, BenQ/Zowie DyAc, ToastyX, black frame insertion (BFI), and now framerate-based motion blur reduction (framegen / LSS / etc).

Variable V-Sync?

Post by Vastoren » 29 Jun 2026, 13:31

Hello all,

I've been using NVPI Revamped to allow for 1/3 V-Sync on my games, as my OLED has poor VRR flicker. I was curious to know if there is a way to force V-Sync to automatically change between modes. If I can reach the required FPS for 1/2 V-Sync, then it should use that, otherwise, drop down to 1/3, and then 1/4.

I'm not sure if this functionality is present in NVPI Revamped, I could not find it.

Is anyone familiar with getting a functionality like this to work?

Thanks all!

That's not possible. NVPI simply sets driver flags, and the driver has no such feature.

As a side-note, the official NVPI has been completely overhauled now and you might want to switch back to it.
