xl2411z pixelated strange colour problems

Hello everyone i decided to make the upgrade a few days ago, i've been eager to get a good screen for a while now.
my xl2411z turned up today, and as i have read up on the colours are quite washed out, the first thing i done was change to the native resolution 1920*1080 and use 144hz, so i was messing around with a few settings regarding colour also (in CCC and control panel, and the monitor panel) i also turned blue reduction ON as i've read good things about it.
i then logged onto facebook and i started noticing the video's, pictures, text even doesn't look how it should, i can only just about read most of the text
it seems like there's a really weird pixelated effect around most of the coloured things on my screen, almost like i've added a photoshop effect onto them.. i mean i haven't messed about with any settings that much, only changed to the native resolution (which things should be crisp clear on)
this is a picture of my facebook screen to kind of show you what i mean by 'weird pixelated effect' as you see the colours are almost outlined it's so weird. (picture was taken on my phone)
does the monitor just need time to adapt to some changes or? it just looks like the contrast has been put super high and things are blotchy, which i have not done atall
hopefully someone with a bit more experience can help, i'm new here and not very clued up, thank you very much
if you need any more information from me regarding anything let me know

Download and run "DDU" (Display driver uninstaller, from
http://www.wagnardmobile.com/DDU/ ) after uninstalling your current AMD drivers from control panel.
Run the AMD uninstaller first, reboot, run DDU (Display driver uninstaller). Let it do its thing then reboot (you can run DDU in safe mode for best results, btw).
Then download custom resolution utility (CRU) from
http://www.monitortests.com/forum/Threa ... tility-CRU (you can also get the convenient restart.zip file for driver restarts later on if you ever make custom resolutions and don't want to reboot).
Run reset-all.exe. and then reboot again.
Then download and install the latest amd catalyst drivers (omega or 14.11.2) and see if its fixed.
If not, then you probably need to RMA, but switching to a different DVI cable (or hdmi) won't hurt.

i left my screen alone for a while as i was so annoyed and just accepted "it's screwed" and it actually looked okay again clear/crisp, then i just tried to alter R,B,G a little to find a nicer balance and it becomes f#cked again? seriously do not understand it.
i definitely think it is the screen that i need to return. at the moment i have no drivers installed and it still appears like this.. even on the startup screen when it says "starting windows" the colours look f#cked there too. i will install these new drivers now and let you know.

here is an example, here is a link to an actual picture
here is how it appears on my screen (after doing everything you have told me strictly following the steps too)
the picture is F#CKED, sorry for my tone but i'm really angry with this situation at the moment, this is probably the 3rd item in a month i've had to send back from things i've bought for myself.

Yeah something's broken.
Make sure you try a different cable before RMA. You never know when the cable is at fault.
Have you switched to a different cable?

i have tried
1 VGA cable (the cable i've used for many years)
VGA cable they supplied with the new screen
DVI cable they supplied with the screen
ALL have the same stupid colour effect, the next step is to try it hooked upto another computer, then i will know for definite.. however i'm pretty sure it is not my computer because my display works fine with my 42" TV
so angry, i ordered from scan.co.uk if they don't replace i will go crazy

THAT definitely looks like something is defective (screen, cable, graphics output) -- I've never seen this before.
I really hope they replace your monitor. But just in case it's your graphics output, can you also reset your graphics color settings to defaults, and maybe plug a different computer (E.g. even your laptop)?

Have you changed the display profile to Standard yet? All of the Gamer settings look similarly bad on desktop, though they don't look that bad. Maybe it's the camera. Worth a try before you send it back.

@aelius yeah i've tried a few of those profiles they all tend to be the same, i don't think it's a colour/colourbalance problem it's something to do with the effect on images, like they're not right.
i'm trying to eliminate things which can be the problem.
@chief i did plug my old Dell 19" 4:3 screen in and same good colour as always (after this problem occured) so this shows my cables, graphics output are still intact and in working order.
the only way i can connect it up to a laptop is VGA, but it's worth a shot
