Pink tint upper half of XL2411Z

Post by plojo » 31 Dec 2014, 00:21

Hi, I just received my XL2411Z and it's amazing.
The only thing that's bugging me is that the upper half of the monitor seems to have a pinkish tint when looked at at from a slight lower angle. My friend told me this is a problem with TN panels but I just wanted to be sure it's not my screen that's defective.
Thanks !

That's color shift.
Try looking at the very bottom from under the bottom and you'll see the same tint.
You can NEVER have top/bottom/left/right all with the exact same color balance and tint on a TN panel. The only way to get it as close as possible is to sit farther back from the screen; that way you minimize the angle from center view to top or bottom view.

There are panels that don't have this type of color shift, but they have other issues....

Uh huh.
Try moving the monitor a bit farther back or tilting the screen slightly, but usually its best to sit farther back.
