Questions regarding monitors. Can you help?

Hi,

I am about to buy a new monitor and graphic card(s).
However, I can not decide which setup would be best. I use the computer for a lot of FPS gaming, especially BF4.
The two options:

1. Buy ROG Swift and one GTX 970.
or
2. Buy BenQ XL2430T (HD, Tn, 144 Hz, 1 ms, no Gsync/freesync, but of course BenQ blur reduction) and two GTX 970 for SLI.

BenQ XL2430T is half price of ROG Swift where I live.
In case of option #1 it seems judging from reviews that I would not be able to reach anything near 80-100 FPS with one GTX 970 in BF4 on ultra settings with ROG Swift (and lowering quality settings, apart from anti aliasing just seems a waste if one has invested in a high resolution screen).
But with option #2 it seems be likely that I can reach 120+ FPS in most games.
Since I have read that G sync works best at above 80 FPS (?), option #1 may not be the best. Also, the ULMB supposedly only works at high FPS, that can not be reached with one GTX 970 on ROG Swift. Hence, neither G sync or ULMB should be working optimally with just one GTX 970.
Obviously, I could do SLI on ROG Swift, but I dont have the money. And even with SLI GTX 970 it seems that 100+ FPS in BF4 may be difficult with ultra settings.

Which option would you choose and why? Any comments?

Many thanks,

Mikkel

G-sync actually works best in the opposite situation i.e. fps < 80 (or your refresh rate). It smooths out stuttering and tearing in lower fps situations because it refreshes the monitor when it gets the frame instead of buffering it. This is essentially any game that drops below 144 or 120 fps. So in your case a single GTX 970 and a higher-resolution G-sync-capable monitor in the ROG Swift would actually be the better option in terms of overall quality. A single GTX 970 is also more than sufficient to run ULMB in older games like CSGO, so you'd get the best of both worlds. Smoothness at high quality, and high performance.

I would go for the single GTX 970 and the Swift. Many G-Sync users experience 40fps as fluent as 60fps - and the 970 will just perform that way most of the time.

Besides that i don't like Multi-GPU Setups in general. If you don't watercool them the PC is much louder and hotter. I prefer upgrading every 2 years so i always have the newest technology at the time.
