I just got this monitor from NCIX in Canada 2 weeks ago. Their site states all XL2720Z's come with Rev 2. But Your Strobe utility is telling me it can't find a compatible monitor. I have installed various versions of Pilot and installed the Windows update drivers and still not working.
I am not in front of the monitor. I only had time to hook it up before leaving for vacation. Is there a way to find out the Firmware revision using any kind of utility?
Thanks
Jeff

Re: XL2720Z No Monitor Detected
I'll let someone else answer your question as it's different on the 2411Z but yes there is.
Another thing you'll want to check though is that your monitor is coming up as XL2720Z instead of default, so make sure it has the Benq driver installed (should come via standard windows update method).

Did you install the monitor drivers from the INF file on the CD? You need to install by device manager or control panel/display, not by double clicking the inf file.
And the strobe utility stops working if you enable or disable GPU scaling, unless you restart the video driver (toastyX driver restarter will work).

Re: XL2720Z No Monitor Detected
I have tried everything but new Cable. I uninstalled Catylist Control panel, installed drivers off CD, installed latest Pilot software, ran Toastyx and even tried the method of turning it off and holding menu which is the 3rd button not 4th like this website says. But I am not seeing a service menu come up so I can't even confirm the firmware other than NCIX's site states ALL XL2720Z's come with firmware 2. I have the XFX Double Dissipation 7800 series. The MFG Date is October 2014 as well.

Tried display port, no joy.
How do I confirm the firmware?

Re: XL2720Z No Monitor Detected
I got it working. I have two Monitors, an HP27" and the BenQ. I had to disable the HP monitor in Devman and the Strobe utility worked!! Weird! Plus the HP still was working after it was disabled. The only issue now is since I did a Reset the HP monitor has black bars of unused space around the bezel.
