Are there any Samsung Ultra HD TV's that support 120Hz?

Are there any Samsung Ultra HD TV's that support 120Hz?

Post by sam54654 » 06 Jun 2015, 10:57

I was thinking of buying a Samsung Ultra HD TV and a new computer with hdmi 2.0 (Are there any motherboards that have hdmi 2.0 or will I have to buy a graphics card that has it?).
I am assuming I can achieve a 120Hz refresh rate on the TV if I set the resolution to 1920x1080 but I was wondering if there is a
Samsung TV that supports 120Hz at Ultra HD?

Also, I don't know what the pixel response rate is on the TV but lets say it is 8ms, once I am running the TV at 120Hz would that
make the response rate double as fast?

Thanks

A lot of Samsung tvs don't support 120hz input like a standard 120hz monitor does, they take 60hz input and do some processing to display 120hz with interpretive frames between the real ones so it's not "real" 120hz. So finding a true 120hz Samsung tv might be hard because a lot of them have 120hz advertised when it's just a fake processing done by the tv it's self. Also a lot of people have luck overclocking their TVs to input and display true 120hz if you are willing to learn how to do that.

You might be able to run 120hz off of your motherboard but if you try to do any gaming or run any high bitrate 120hz footage from your computer might not even be able to handle it without a GPU.

If the response time was 8ms at 60hz then I believe yes, the response time will be about 4ms at 120hz
