Okay, so I have done alot of reading regarding how to get the best setup possible for this monitor. I have had it for a while now, and thought by making sure everything was running at 144hz, that would be the best choice for me, but I have found out I am far from wrong.
The trouble I am having is finding out exactly what I need to achieve the best I can out of this monitor, regarding the programs I need to download, I have CRU, but what else do I need and what do i need to change in the NVidia Control Panel under Adjust desktop size and partition to make sure this work.

I use 1920x1080 when not playing games.
I literally only play CSGO, and switch up between 4:3 1280x960 (stretched) and 16:10 1680x1050.
I have recently found out about 4:3 1440x1080 which is HD res of 4:3 1280x960, as I am aware.
(Also how would I go about say if I want to play on 4:3 but then I want to change to 16:10, is that something I do in the CRU app?)


16:9 1920x1080 - when not playing games
4:3 1440x1080 and 16:10 1680x1050 - CS:GO
These are the three resolutions I would love to setup so i get the most out of my monitor, I just have no idea on how to do it, and what needs to be turned off/on in the BenQ menu settings.

I am also using a DisplayPort Cable

I'm posting this because I have absolutely no experience with any of this and I'd rather be safe then sorry, I haven't found a tutorial or how to on a step by step guide on everything that is needed and what you shouldn't do etc. I just want to make sure I am doing everything the correct way not the wrong way. I have seen the countless posts here at blurbusters and from various other sites aswell, but I am still clueless as to what I actually need in regards to any programs and the correct way to go about all of this.

It's not hard. Just create the resolution in CRU. CRU is only for creating resolutions, not testing or setting them.

Common resolutions can be entered in standard resolution list in the dropdown menu in CRU.
Uncommon custom resolutions need to be created under detailed resolutions.
For 1440x1080, just create it. No need to change the timings, just enter it and save it. The vertical size matches the screen panel size so there's nothing to change. Then restart the driver with the restarter program and select it in the game.

As far as I know, CRU creates EDID overrides (which send the monitor an actual resolution signal), while the Nvidia control panel creates GPU Scaled resolutions. You can turn GPU scaling off and select (I think) Display- noscaling, but I use an AMD Card so I really don't know how that's done on Nvidia stuff.

You don't CHANGE resolutions in CRU. You do that in your video card panel. CRU is for creating resolutions (which it does through edid overrides). If you think you messed up, just run reset-all.exe

ahh okay, so I will not need the pixel overclocker program or anything?
and I want to be able to blur reduction and all that, don't I need to run at 120hz or something?

I've currently got a 1440x1080 120hz setup running for CSGO, but can't for the life of me work out how to do a 16:10 1680x1050 stretched custom resolution
