Hey everyone, I recently purchased the AOC G2460FQ, but after everything was setup and the monitor was supposedly running at 144hz like the OSD info and nvidia panel claimed it still felt even more choppy than my old 60hz. I started digging around and eventually stumbled across the UFO-frame skipping test and concluded that not everything was working as intended. I then proceeded to take some pictures which are as follow.

Using both DVI-D / DP-cable yield same result. I've installed the correct drivers through device manager.







Now if I'm not mistaken the monitor is working fine on 60hz, drops every second frame @ 120hz and proceeds to get worse while still having a pattern @ 144hz? Im stumped as to what the reason for this is, and would greatly appreciate any support.

Thanks for the link! Couldn't find that one while googling for info. Seems like I have no choice but to send the thing back where it came from and buy something from a proper manufacturer

Please check the monitor OSD and see if there is an option for "Instant" mode or Thru mode or anything similar.
You have nothing to lose and it's worth checking. There could always be some sort of firmware bug where that mode is disabled. I'm pretty sure that 144hz *requires* such a mode to be enabled.

I checked on my Benq XL2720Z and if I disable instant mode at 144hz, it actually looks --worse-- than 60hz. (120hz looks ok with it disabled). And when I mean worse, it literally looks like 30hz with tearing involved. I know vertical total tweaks don't seem to apply whatsoever if instant mode is disabled (the faint scanlines you get from using VT tweaks to reduce strobing crosstalk completely vanish if instant mode is disabled and the crosstalk reverts to "normal" despite the presence of the VT tweak, and at 120hz+, the screen gets scrambled if you use a VT tweak). I know that isn't exactly related but at least check the OSD for some sort of input lag/response option.

Checked every last bit in the OSD twice but no such luck. With other displays with the same panel having similar problems im leaning towards this just being faulty, especially since my friends 2460PQU is working with the exact same settings.

Necroing an old post, but I think the issue has come relevant as I've seen a boat load of people having the same trouble with their AOC's. Happy endings for me in this story, as the AOC-service was able to get mine fixed! (took them long enough tho )

PLEASE HELP! I am right now facing the exact problem you were facing, how did the tech support fix this?! Do I need to contact them or can you provide me the fix if possible, I am so gutted that I was playing on 60fps all the time and wondered why I couldn't see the differnce between 60 and 144 then found articles like these. please reply ASAP, thank you!

Hey. I returned mine to the shop I bought it from and they took care of it. Another way I believe is to contact AOC directly.

Thanks for the reply. After a month (and a week) I said just give me replacement, I gave up and coulndn't care if it wasn't 144hz but today I received the new replacement monitor and bam! working at 144hz, smooth like butter, such a difference, when I set it to 144hz I checked ufotest at 144hz, no frame skips at all.
