Topic says it all. I have another account here to which I can't recall the name, not many posts made, but still not new here =D.

Currently have a benq2411z using the VT trick, looks pretty good minus the colors, but colors are last priority for me.

Im looking for smoothness/fluidity, is there anything better than what i currently have? And of course thanks to BE I prefer Benq unless another brand offers something of the same sort. I'm still willing to try another brand even with BE if the fluidity is going to be alot better.

Primary use will be CS GO.

Money really a factor, but I can't afford some $2000 CRT I saw on ebay =P


I belated thanks for all the training and teaching on Benq, blur reduction, updating firmware via Linux, VT tricks and strobe utilities, etc! You guys are smart, and that's not to patronize lol.

Least ghosting? Um...
The least ghosting display *WITHOUT* motion blur reduction would be the Asus VG248QE or VG278H or the Ilyama ProLite GB2488HSU. MAYBE the Eizo Foris FS2421, *AND* the Benq XL2720Z --yes--XL2720Z--with blur reduction OFF and using two firmware /profile bugs in a row to exploit it:

The least ghosting with blur reduction/strobed backlight? CRT. Everything else is all over the place unless you want to use Nvidia Lightboost mode on your XL2411Z.

Here's how the ghosting looks on XL2720Z without exploiting the profile toggle bug (keep in mind this is 100hz, blur reduction OFF, AMA high).



Here is how the ghosting looks on XL2720Z AFTER exploiting the profile toggle bug AFTER abusing an AMA low blur reduction on toggle beforehand (this is ALSO 100hz, blur reduction OFF, AMA "customized")
Absolutely NO inverse ghosting, NO white trail spectral ghosting of black text on white background, NO abnormal streaks, etc

(Fyi it's impossible to have blur reduction *ON* without ANY ghosting. You either have inverse artifacts (XL2411Z / XL2420Z) or normal ghosting (XL2720Z with toggled AMA low).

BTW to reduce the overdrive artifacts on your XL2411Z (MUST have V3 or newer firmware), set blur reduction on and then set AMA to high afterwards.
If you do this and then switch to a preset with blur reduction off right away, you can get slightly lower AMA with blur reduction off also.

Also something strange happened?

So i've updated windows 10 in the last few days, I've also updated nvidia drives twice in the last couple days. Now my motion is clearer than it's ever been, but my VT tweak is no longer listed in Nvidia Control panel?

When i try to add the VT trick it says: "test failed custom resolution xxxx is not supported by your display" how strange

Another topic i know, so back to main topic

So the alien test for me, shows perfect clarity of the ufo as it moves, but it leaves a trail, its not that bad. So what I'm getting is there isn't a monitor at the monitor that can have near perfect clarity and leave no trail? (not CRT of course)

I can post UFO pictures if my explanations are bad.

I can't help with the Nvidia control panel.
I use ToastyX CRU to create custom resolutions with VT tweaks. That way they are guaranteed to work.

Lightboost on the XL2411Z can ONLY be activated by 3d vision drivers on Nvidia hardware, but you can use the INF override to activate it with the 3d vision drivers, along with the 3d vision setup. I can't help with this. I use AMD.

You need to read the how-to's on the main blur busters' website for that Lightboost stuff.

ToastyX Strobelight does not work to activate lightboost on Z series monitors. It only works on Asus VG248/VG278 and older Benq T series monitors.

Acer GXXXXX(forgot the name) has Lightboost permanently unlocked in the firmware.
