Do "fast" keyboards make a difference?
Cherry has that "Realkey" keyboard with a 1ms response time via analog processing. CM has the Novatouch with fast topre switches and a lower debounce time. Bloody has optical switches on their keys that don't need to debounce. Logitech has special switches they made that they claim register faster. It seems like the market has allot of "fast" keyboards, all with their own unique methods of achieving this. Do any of these really affect anything? Would one really notice better responsiveness in games or typing? Or is this all snake oil?

Latency is cumulative, so possibly, but it probably only matters in rhythm games or fighting games with tight controls.
That said, basically everything you've heard about super special debouncing technology is bullshit. You can get <1ms press reaction with ordinary switches and diodes if you program the microcontroller right (plus usb polling interval). The problem is nobody actually tests keyboard latency in their reviews, so you don't really know which keyboards have poorly written firmware.
