Any way to use Nvidia 3d Vision2 on Eizo FG2421? [yes, sorta]

Just wondering if there is any way to do this. Apparently, any monitor which supports 120hz refresh can theoretically support Nvidia's 3D Vision? I was doing some light reading on Google and what needs to be done is some EDID override, but I haven't found one specifically for the FG2421.
I'm looking for a new monitor and would have bought the Eizo were it not for the fact that it didn't support 3D which I was always interested in. I bought the 3D Vision 2 Kit thinking I would get the BenQ XL2420TE but then held off my purchase of the monitor when BenQ announced the XL2420Z, but with BenQ's nonchalance about the firmware bug and its refusal to answer my queries as to when the Z series would be available for sale in my country, I'm interested in knowing if there is a way I can get my 3D Vision emitter to work with the FG2421 should I buy it instead of the Z.
Thanks in advance!

Actually, it actually kind of works through hacks.
Someone successfully used emitter emulator, combined with the "CRT Mode" of 3D Vision.
He said it was extremely difficult and tricky to set up, but it worked.
(1) You need to be able to swap left/right eyes, since the input lag is high to end up causing the eyes to be swapped because of the +1 frame delay. IIRC, he had to modify his LCD shutter glasses to swap the shutters. (But I think this can also be done via a registry tweak instead).
(2) You need to warm up your FG2421 for 30-45 minutes to bring the ghosting down. Works best in a warm/hot room, too. VA panels are so temperature-sensitive, ghosts a lot when cold, that the 3D crosstalk noticeably increases/decreases with temperature.
The 3D crosstalk is worse than LightBoost monitors, but the CRT mode of 3D Vision allows the FG2421 greatly outperforms original 3D Vision 1 monitors (pre-LightBoost), so that's where you should set your expectations. i.e. 3D quality is better than 3DVision1, but worse than 3DVision2. In the best case scenario, it actually comes rather close to the worst LightBoost monitors, far better than 3DVision1 -- i.e. there is crosstalk, worse in dark scenes, but was overall better than he expected.

It sure can, and also L/R can be swapped via regedit for passive panels as well.

Of course, u wouldn't any kind of "emitter emulator" if u own the 3d Vision Glass Kit, (Glasses + IR-Emitter).
I had my trouble running my Kit with the FG2421, till i enable 240Hz Mode ^^
I must admit, WOW!
The 3d-depth is amazing.
No need of faked EDID or registry-hacks. CRT-Mode and 240Hz, voila!

How did you manage to make it work without hacks? The Nvidia software needs to detect a 3Dvision ready panel, no?

3D Vision ready isn't necessary. CRT-Mode did the job.

Yes, a properly configured CRT-mode on shutter glasses emulator on a fully warmed-up
Eizo FG2421 produces usable 3D shutter glasses quality.
And it is correct -- you *do* need to enable Turbo240, in order for 3D shutter glasses to work well with the
Eizo FG2421, since strobe backlights (e.g. LightBoost) were historically designed to reduce crosstalk with 3D shutter glasses.

This is interesting!
I'm a complete noob at this. Assuming I have the 3D vision kit and an Nvidia GFX card, how would I get 3Dvision to work on the FG2421? I'm still struggling to see how 3D can be enabled (software wise, at least). If it's not too much trouble, can you give a step-by-step guide on how to enable 3dvision on the Eizo?

- Use DVI-D, not DP!
- Good advice to use newest driver, or at least driver known to support 3d (i currently use 337.50)
- Connect the IR-Emitter via USB to the PC
- Enable 240Hz Mode via Eizo-Setup (Software or On-Screen-Setup)
- Read the manual, how to setup 3D-Vision in CRT-Mode (In fact just use the 3D-Vision Setup included in the Driverpanel).
- Done
If you want to see 3D-Movies, i have made good experience with PowerDVD 14.
