Please help. Is this grid like pattern normal for Dell S2716

I just bought a Dell S2716DG and while I am happy with it for the most part, while gaming and the character is in motion there is a fine grid like pattern which appears on the screen. It disappears as soon as the character stands still. I have tried making a video of this but can't capture it accurately.

Should I try for a replacement or is this normal? Its my phone camera and its not doing a good job. The third video exaggerates the effect.

Yes, Usually Normal For TN -- If This Faint
That's LCD inversion artifacts. They are found on some high-Hz TN-panel monitors. Is this your first TN-panel monitor?
For more information about inversion
artifacts, see
viewtopic.php?f=2&t=3629
From what I see in the videos, it looks normal to me for a high-Hz TN panel -- it is par for the course for high-refresh-rate TN-panel monitors to have a moderate amount of inversion artifacts that sometimes become visible during motion (single-pixel vertical lines, single-pixel horizontal lines, and pixel-checkerboard artifacts that appear during motion). They are seen in motion tests too, at
http://www.testufo.com/inversion
Technical information: All LCD panels use a voltage inversion that swaps voltage polarities in alternate refresh cycles to keep the panel balanced in voltage. However, the operation of doing that may sometimes produce inversion artifacts. Fast pixel response is sometimes extremely difficult to keep stable on both voltage polarities on LCD inversion algorithms, which then generates LCD inversion artifacts. I do not think that this artifact will improve with RMA. If you hate this a lot, then you have to pay the extra money and switch to an IPS panel instead. There is a list of 1440p IPS GSYNC monitors here, but remember IPS pixel response is slower than TN, if that matters a huge deal for you (especially for blur reduction or high-end eSports). However for ~120Hz-144Hz gameplay without the use of motion blur reduction (ULMB), using IPS instead of TN is not a noticeable response-time or motion-clarity difference for most people.

I have owned a lot of 60hz TN panels and 60hz IPS panels but this is my first 144hz TN panel and the first time I saw this.

They are more common on "1ms TN" than on older "2ms TN". The faster the pixel response, the less balanced the two polarities of inversion algorithms can become, and inversion artifacts begin to become visible.
It is also sometimes more visible during low-framerate variable refresh rate, since the ratio of pixel response to refresh cycle time, combined with the variable-speed inversion artifacts, can highlight the inversion artifacts better.
Test your 60Hz TN panel with
http://www.testufo.com/inversion and the ones at Lagom. They just often create a different inversion pattern, or generates too much motion blur to easily notice the artifact.
You can reduce this considerably with some brands of TN monitors, but it's currently extremely difficult to avoid for 1ms TN technologies -- some have it better than others, fainter or stronger -- but the intensity I see in your videos look par for the course.
Hope this helps...

Thanks. I am starting to get used to it. Don't want to deal with the hassle of getting an exchange unit and getting a worse deal like a dead pixel or so.

I didn't see this problem in any of the reviews, so I'm not sure it's actually supposed to be normal.

If sufficiently faint, you usually don't see them at normal arm's length viewing distance, only when staring closely like in the videos.
It happens so often on many monitors that reviewers tend to get used to them as being a trait of high-hz 1ms TN, and sometimes not mention them. Much like the behavioral quirks of a specific panel tech. However, you may get more/less intensity if you play the panel lottery (aka warranty claiming / monitor exchanges), but they never completely disappear in my experience.
If they are blatantly visible viewed from monitor size away (e.g. 2 feet away from 24" inch) -- then it may be excessively miscalibrated and it is in your favour to play the panel lottery.
From my risk assessment, I'm not sure it is worth playing panel lottery on this sample, but you could try once, just to make sure. If you do, please post your feedback here!
