XG258Q OD Lines

Hey Blurbusters community,
I recently bought a new monitor and got into the whole topic. I bought the XG258Q, but quickly noticed some issues with this display.
OD causes some strange interlacing/color deviation in neighboring lines of different color.
These Images illustrate the issue.
Disabling OD completely, or altering OD, Contrast, or other color settings fixes it in certain occasions. The display is connected via the provided dp cable to an GTX1060.
Since I just recently started investing time into expanding my knowledge about displays, because I needed a new one, I'm wondering if this is a normal occurrence and what causes this issue? Could it be FRC combined with poor OD calibration that makes the pixels overshoot, or an firmware issue, because e.g. changing the contrast by just 1/100 can fix it and changing it back brings back the lines. So its 100% reproducable on my display and seems to occur in completly different images where small horizontal lines appear.
Thx for any help/answer guys and greetings from Germany!

Thx for your answer Notty.
I bought the XG258Q, because I read the PG258Q is quite a decent 240Hz display and since the XG258Q should be the same, just without Gsync, cheaper and a newer model, I thought this one might be better. Especially because Nvidia opened up to adaptive sync.
Was it always like this with Asus, or was the PG258Q actually decent and they just wanted to maximize profits with selling the same display again only with cheaper hardware/poor calibration?
I'm probably gonna return it.

Is blur reduction turned on/off? (e.g. ELMB)
I ask because some vendors optimize their blur reduction modes to use different overdrive settings on a per-scanline or per-horizontal-strip basis, to take into account the asymmetry between
LCD scanout and the global backlight flash. In very certain/rare cases, that can create horizontal bands of different overdrive artifacts.

He probably doesnt use ELMB because it makes screen dark.No one wants that including him.

I don't use ELMB. I run this display on 240Hz and ELMB is only supported up to 144Hz.
Here are some more Images for interested people.
It seems that the line drawn above affects the beginning of the line below, when there is a sharp edge in some occasions.
The artefacts can change/disappear when settings like contrast are changed. OD level affects the intensity of the artefacts and with OD level 0 (I guess that means off) no artefacts appear ever.
On lower refresh rates (tested with 60Hz) the artefacts still occur in the same intensity. Strong OD though also induces flicker in critical areas (horizontal line patterns) and the artefacts themselves, especially for red colors.
Can anyone recommend me another display, preferably with the same, or a similar 240hz panel and low input lag? I mainly play CS:GO. I'm even willing to try the PG258Q if u guys say it doesn't have these problems, since it's only slightly more expensive for me and Gsync/Compatability is nice to have for casual/graphical demanding games. Or do basically all 240Hz monitors have some OD issues in some way?

Same issue with this "scanlines" for me.
I try two new monitors BenQ XL2546 and three ASUS XG248Q.
I play only CS:GO and this scanlines make me crazy and angry.
Everytime when I rotate fast left-right sides get this..
I tried with OD from level 0 to level 5, maybe on level 3 its a little better but have it again. I don't know what can I do or what can I buy from 240hz brand and models. In the future maybe I will try with some IPS display 27 inch 144hz or 165hz from ASUS or Acer Predator. I think 240hz monitors is not good for buying at this time. Maybe we need to wait for manufacturing another 240hz panel without this issues. TN panels is very bad at this time (bad colors, bad scanlines, bad ghosting, kill your eyes) IPS is the future, but for now don't have it 240hz. Maybe in close future will have it
