AW2518H or XG258Q or XG248Q for 240hz

Post by SorryMyHoney » 05 Jul 2019, 03:06

As you can question above, which one should I choose between all of them ? I want the lowest input lag/response rate as much as possible. I only play FPS games all the times. but some game may struggle I know so that's why I put AW2518H with G-sync in there just in case. (Apex Legends, EFT, CSGO, some other fast peace game) 8-)

I also did some reasearch myself and saw XG248q has really bad coating but ELMB can do up to 240hz but add some/lot of input lag at a cost. For XG258Q, it has almost the same input lag as XG248 but has better color than XG248. as for AW2518H, I really know much about it... so I like to know more info about it if you own one!! if possible, can I get a graph for input lag/response rate with all 3 monitors ? thanks!!! :D

Price in my country.
AW2518H (579$)
XG258Q (485$)
XG248Q (419$)

noted: PG258Q is not available in my country.

System that I will this monitor with:
Ryzen 3900x (soon)
Asus RTX 2080TI OC (soon)

I have a LG 27GK750F, that's a 240Hz monitor with strobing - the only one, which can strobe at 240Hz with large Vertical Totals. It's excellent, and input lag is on par with other displays if you change the picture scaling mode. (the default one adds 1 frame of delay.) Might be cheaper in ur country compared to the others, in the EU it costs around 300€.

Also: Do NOT buy the 3900X if you care at all about the latency and FPS in CS:GO, and similar quad-core CPU heavy games. The 3+3 chiplet design really destroys FPS in Source Engine games (and likely others), because of the latency penalty of cross-CCX access. The 3800X (or 3950X if you stream) would be much better options, because they use the traditional full CCX 4+4 design.
I have the Ryzen 3 1200 (2+2 CCX), and I really regret not going with the Ryzen 3 2200G (4+0 CCX) for a few euros more.

sry but my country only sell monitors I mentioned ^^
also how bad is the 3900x with the chiplet 3x3 ? also noted that the ryzen 1200 overclock less than ryzen 2200G.
