Should i switch VA to IPS monitor

Hi guys
Recently i was using a 144hz VA freesync 2 monitor with a 5700xt but the card died. With overdrive set to medium ghosting was not an issue.
I have since picked up a 2070 Super as i was over the issues with the 5700xt but the ghosting is much worse at medium, even setting overdrive to strong it doesnt look as nice compared to the 5700xt, im not sure why.
I have sent the GPU back to the shop as it died in under 3 months..so i am hoping for refund or store credit of about

So i could use that to pick up a decent IPS monitor and not deal with my current issues which is great, but id be stuck with a new and spare VA monitor
Anyways my question: Is this a good idea? I could store credit and get something like this

Or am I missing something simple in nvidia options that would solve everything?
