About CRT，200Hz is better than 100Hz？is this real?

Not sure what you mean by "real". Yes, CRTs can have high refresh rates, it comes with reduced resolution. Whether this tradeoff is worth it or not depends on you. Most people with CRTs use neither the highest supported resolution nor the highest supported refresh rate, but choose something in between

Which CRT can support 200 Hz vertical refresh rate?
The highest refresh rate I generally hear is roughly 150Hz-170Hz.

What you probably heard was not real, but what is the CRT model? I can look up the specs for you.

Probably a lot of them can hit 200 with custom resolutions, the horizontal scan rate is the technical limitation, not the vertical. Though I don't know of any that support 200hz officially.

Good current PC hardware + good CRT Pro monitor + current HighEnd DisplayPort to VGA adapter like SUNIX DPU3000 (+500MHz DAC bandwith !) and others similar adapters (see HardForum.com FW900 Sony CRT thead for details) = Holy grail

I have this Sunix adapter and CRT monitors, and is amazing play with this old screens, i recommend all young players that never have play with a CRT monitor, taste it !! and you can't never go back to LCD !!

Unfortunately, that's not gonna happen. Pretty much guaranteed. Today, manufacturing a CRT tube costs far more than $2000 to $10,000 each. The cost of niche CRT tube manufacture has skyrocketed as quantities fell and factories shut down. The only reason they once fell to below $500 in the olden days was huge quantity of manufacture back in the analog days, and most people won't pay extra nowadays.

The pioneer days of 3-figure priced brand-newly-manufactured CRTs are never going to happen -- that boat has sailed.

Also it's less environmentally friendly with the poisonus stuff in a CRT including lead, as well as the costly shipping.

Flat panel displays are cheap partially because they come in much smaller boxes, are lighter, and can be shipped for literally a penny per dollar in a full freight container.

There's no hope of CRT manufacturing starting up again except for 4-figure and 5-figure priced ultra-niche displays for nostagilia purposes and/or scientific purposes.

It's a pretty good tube. One of the few true-200Hz capable, yes.

But these cherrypicked tubes are hard to find and cost quite a lot to purchase (shipping) -- you could buy one for $50 at an auction a few years ago but now these are highly coveted, FW900 go for lots of money on eBay even. And shipping is expensive.

If these prices are right, i agree that the only posible way to see new CRT monitors, is make high end monitors at high price, a luxury item.

There are market for High Quality CRT, for sure, as you say, Ebay auctions for good condition old used Professional CRT's skyrocket prices, Sony FW900, Sony F520, Iiyama VMP 514, Eizo Pro CAD series, etc...

Is normal, are considered by much people electronic art works, included me , a "magic item"

Have been forgotten by modern society , but they have extraordinary motion picture features, much more that current LCD with strobe or OLED, due to have impulse type without inputlag, or crosstalk, or low bright, or fast wear OLED, is realy amazing, and is mandatory that return to shops, and people can choice what is best for it.

If manufacturer currently work to fix and tweak the defects and limitations of CRT tech, wow, with current manufacturing technology, we can have a very seriously gaming screen !! Oh yeah, FW900 is a toy Vs it.

Imagine CRT Flat Slim 27" 4K 1000Hz, with almost instant response time, electron beam in void chamber is very fast , phosphor react to it almost real-time, and using phosphor with the fastest decay possible we can reduce trails, my hair stands on end just thinking about it

LCD and OLED can't go to response times sub milisecond in all GtG shades. CRT and MicroLED is the analog and digital ways to accomplish the BlurBusters dream of ~0 motionblur and ~0 lag.

People whit money that value to much the CRT advantages Vs LCD in motion, pay very high prices for enjoy used CRT's. No problem to pay high price 1000-3000 range for new units, if the quality is in the same range of the price

Sony FW900 cost new very much money in 2005, is not only now a luxury item, also in 2005 ! Is normal that a new CRT with the quality of this Sony or better, cost much money, very complex internal composition, much more that some people tink.

Also agree to reduce at maximun dangerous environmental materials, and ever more, that in the purchase conditions, buyer is forced to accept recicle it appropiately, or could be fined.

And manufacturer use the best screen filter for Static Electricity, EM radiation, and X-Ray leakages detection, for example if a pixel phospor is breaked and a small dangerous x-ray touch the filter, user can be alerted by OSD message. Old CRT's never go to this level of security, and is very important, health is the first. I value to much that LCD do not have these risk.

2,000 USD final shop price, whit 5 years warranty, for 27"-32" slim flat 16:9 CRT 4K 48-200Hz DP v2.0 with adapter DP-VGA inside monitor, i buy it ! A monster for fast paced gaming and TV streams with speed movements, perfect for 60FPS content if user prefer a bit of flicker but no inputlag nor motionblur, very decent black levels and contrast, enought brightness, 10bit color no problem, and viewing angle is not a issue in CRT. Overall quality of one very good manufactured CRT is evident !

Currently there are LCD HighEnd gaming monitors like ASUS PG27UQ that cost in Europe 2,000 EUR, PG35VQ 2,800 EUR, and the new PG32UQX is espected in US at 3,600 USD ! New CRT's can be in this same range of selected gaming screens.

Is a way to accelerate the BlurBusters dream, until MicroLED arrive. I see the LCD+Strobe just a patch.

Don't worry guys, in another 5-10 years you'll all forget CRTs once OLEDs or micro LEDs give us 120+hz at 4k, sub 1ms delay, BFI, and great colours/blacks.
