G Sync jittery until i alt + tab back in game.

I play Fortnite competitively and I bought an alien ware AW2518H with g sync but when g sync is activated in the NVCP and I go into a game for about 20-30 seconds their will be a lot of jitter and screen tearing until i press alt + tab and then it will work for a while and then do the same thing, I'm wondering if this is a faulty g sync chip or something I've tried resetting PC and everything but it has not worked.
