So Im looking to build a new rig, my concern is that my main go to games are BR (currently CoD Warzone) and are hard to push high fps.

Even if I go all out (which I may) I can expect framerates of 200-250 fluctuating and certainly not stable 244.

I currently have a XL2720Z v3 OC'd at 220. I've played at 220 on it with Kovaaks etc and it feels amazing hence the new rig/wanting to achieve higher FPS in BR games. The new BenQ with 0.5ms 244 DyAc sounds amazing but will this be worthwhile for BR games where I might only hit 200? Might I be better off 1440p even though I only care for competitive advantage since then I can hit the max refresh and get some additional clarity for distance? (I've never played on 1440p so hard to say).

I understand the general rule for competitive edge is 1080p max frames but I'm wanting some opinions on if this holds for BR games where 244hz is unlikely and there are more long range gunfights?

It's really all about your focus. If the competitive advantage is your #1 priority, you should still go for a 240Hz 1080p monitor.
Being far below 240fps might cause disadvantages on some monitors, however a little bit lower wouldn't matter as much.

You have to figure your priority list out. How much do you value competitive advantage? Accurate colors? Immersive single player games?
I myself for example play CSGO or BR games 80% of the time. I always shoot for 240fps, which works fine with lowering settings. the rest, 20%, is single player games and i really like stuff to look good and be immersive. A good balance in this case would be the MSI MAG251RX. However my #1 priority will remain competitive advantage, so I went for the HP Omen X 25f, since it's one of the fastest and clearest panels these days while not being extremely expensive (It dropped to 250€ on Amazon DE last friday probably worth keeping an eye on).

The XL2540/XL2546/XL2546S are some of the best competitive monitors, however I'm sensitive to BFI, so I wouldn't use that anyways, it also adds slight input lag - hence going for the Omen, since it's able to achieve clear motion without BFI.

So while I threw some suggestions into my answer, they're probably quite useless to you - since you need to figure out what your priorities are.
