Hello,

as a AMD-Grafik user I have to use the ToastyX tool to apply the 1350 trick to my XL2720Z+BlurBusterUtility.

But I think it did not apply this patch, as the screen is really dim. Anyway I find no way to approve if the Trick worked.

What I did:

Started the ToastyX Custom Resolution Utility 1.1.2 (OS: windows 8.1 x64, all Updates, Grafik Driver 14.4 beta)

then I deleted all "Detailed resolutions"-Profiles and just added one Profile as it is described in this how-to:http://www.blurbusters.com/benq/strobe-utility/#1350

I realized the how-to is written for an older version of ToastyX. So it is unclear wich settings have to be done for "Sync width" and "Front porch". I just set them exactly as they are in the picture in the how-to.

I then pressed OK,...OK, Resterted machine.

(I also unticked all boxes under "Established resolutions" but I think this does not matter)

The Problem is:

After restart it seems as nothing happened. For testing-purposes I made a single 1600x900 Profile in "detailed resolutions, but this resolution was not selected after restart.


Can someone say me how I can check if the 1350 trick worked ? For now it seems it didnt work.

Are there any new entries in windows-resolution-list after this patch ? I dont understand how to see if it worked.

"Include extension block" is checked....

Make sure you are using toastyx's pixel clock (AMD version) patcher. If the pixel clock is higher than 329mhz, any changes you make won't work, if you didn't use the AMD patcher.
And you can test it by noticing that the 'crosstalk band' (of a double image area) between top and bot (adjusted with the BB utility) should have more separation between top and bottom (1500 (1502 max) improves that separation even more), when doing your tests on the testufo site (use the moving pictures-> alien invasion fullscreen for best results).

And no, there should be no new resolutions unless you created one (I created a 1920x1076 one, due to some games (Crysis) wanting to use 50hz at 1920x1080, and the only way to force 60hz is to make a custom resolution a few lines below 1080, or to delete all established and normal resolutions). It simply will use the timings you created under detailed.

2 questions:

1.:

I read it uses EDID

do you have to enable the usage of EDID in the CC? there is a checkbox for that.. but it was not checked by default it seems.

2.:

Change Vertical Total to “1350″
If using NVIDIA Control Panel, edit “Vertical Total”
If using ToastyX CRU instead, select “Vertical” and then edit “Total”.
IMPORTANT: If using ToastyX, set Horizontal “Total” to 2080.

that seems easy to do BUT in the picture provided other values differ from the ones shown in my window of toastyx, these are

front porch (I got 88:4)
sync width (I got 44:5)
polarity (I got + | - )

so shall I leave those untouched or alter to the same in the given picture?

Well, in my case (XL2411Z), I used the same values as in the screenshot at http://www.blurbusters.com/wp-content/u ... n-1350.png, except that instead of 1350, I put 1320 total lines, so that the pixel clock is 329.48 MHz, just a tiny bit under 330 MHz (the maximum value of dual link DVI, unless you remove the driver limitation).

So:
front porch 48, 3
sync width 32, 5
total 2080, 1320
polarity +, +

And this entry has to be the first one in the list.

The reduction of crosstalk is clearly noticeable, compared to the default setting.

To confirm that your blur reduction is optimized, use the TestUFO Alien Invasion pattern -> Height -> Full Screen

Big improvement in strobe crosstalk reduction. It gets even better than this if you use the VT1500 tweak instead of VT1350, and becomes even further better when at a slightly lower refresh rate (e.g. 100Hz).

i ve done the 1350 trick now. i realised i had to turn the fader to the left again, as it's said in the tutorial, to have the clearest part of the image in the middle.. is the vt1500 trick recommended over the 1350 trick if i dont use under 120hz?

The larger the better. However, it's also harder to get working at some refresh rates. But you can give it a try, and see if that enlarges the "clear zone" even further.

i wont be using others than 120hz.
