I have been up and down these forums reading and comparing and now i have hit a brick wall!

I am looking to upgrade from my current monitor benq xl2411p to a 240hz monitor now i know Benq have just released their 2020 refresh of the XL2546K so the simple option would just to go for that but at £500 its a very steep upgrade and i do mainly play competitive fps however i am aware i am not a pro nor is it my job.

I am also getting a PS5 and some games will allow higher refresh of 120/144 via hdmi so that is important to me, My pc is easily capable of 240fps @ 1080p, So visual stuff like 4k resolution or hdr doesn't concern me i am here for speed, I have a nice 4k tv for when i want to enjoy single player games.

So ive been up and down comparing and the main options seem to be between MSI,DELL ALIENWARE,ASUS,ACER and ofcourse the Benq

Just wanting to hear some peoples thoughts as i assume allot of people are in the same boat at the moment!

Don't forget that most 240hz desktop monitors are very terrible in latency for 60Hz/120Hz gaming consoles due to the way they buffer slow-incoming refresh cycles to later (lagged) scan them out at a faster 1/240sec scanout.

A few models overcome this though. Such models include the ASUS XG258 which is scanrate multisync, so it's very good low-lag for 60Hz, 120Hz and 240Hz sources, as the panel scanrate autosyncs to cable scanrate.

You could get separate monitors since there's a stressful "Jack of all trades, master of none" consideration.

I have, however, witnessed an unreleased newer 1440p 165Hz "1ms IPS" panel that is scanrate multisync (under NDA, cannot disclose model yet), which might be just what you need if you don't need 240Hz. And I wonder if upcoming 1440p 240Hz "1ms IPS" are scanrate multisync. You then thus, want to wait a smidge longer...
