Compatibility with Optimus laptops?

I was wondering if the new G-SYNC monitors will be compatible with laptops that use nVidia's Optimus technology? I have an Origin laptop with a GTX 680M video card, and I recently purchased the BenQ XL2420TE 24" monitor and have it connected via displayport. It's quite an upgrade from the stock 60hz display that I've been rocking, but to my disappointment, I found out that I have to jump through hoops to utilize the tasty 2D LightBoost goodness (which I haven't done yet, as I haven't taken the time to dig my old tower out of storage).
I've looked for info on this, and have seen conflicting reports as to whether Optimus-based laptops will be able to use G-SYNC. I'm ready to return this BenQ laptop and spring for the Asus VG248QE and a G-SYNC kit if so. Any info would be greatly appreciated!
