"G-Sync 101 Optimal Settings" can cause stuttering in some games - found a fix!

Talk about NVIDIA G-SYNC, a variable refresh rate (VRR) technology. G-SYNC eliminates stutters, tearing, and reduces input lag. List of G-SYNC Monitors.

"G-Sync 101 Optimal Settings" can cause stuttering in some games - found a fix!

Hello! This is my first post here, but I came across something that completely resolved some intermittent stuttering I had been experiencing in Destiny 2 since I started following the Blur Busters recommendations about a year back. I just wanted to share!

(Apologies if this is not the right place or if this has already been discussed.)

General wisdom here seems to be that the frame-limiter should be set to "RefreshRate -3" in both the NVidia Control Panel and in-game. My theory was that the frame limiters might be "fighting" with one another, so I decided to set the limiter to "RefreshRate -3" in the Control Panel, and "RefreshRate -5" in games that support it. (Essentially prioritizing the in-game limiter if one is available). I was quite shocked to discover that all of the random stutters I had been experiencing off-and-on for the past year had completely vanished!

Anyhoo, that's all I wanted to share. Hopefully this helps somebody else!

Just an FYI; my optimal settings do not recommend stacking of FPS limiters. You should be using either an in-game or external solution, and only one at a time per game, or yes, they can "fight" and create undesired side-effects.
