I have narrowed down my search to these two monitors after doing a lot of digging through posts and gathering opinions. I am an Immortal Valorant player and I want good performance and low input lag. No need for MBR, but having nice motion clarity would be nice. The VG259QM is on sale for $200 rn, while I can get the 390hz for $400.

I would love any insight from current owners of the 390hz as well! Thanks. Also am leaning towards a full IPS switch for a better media consumption experience. This monitor will be mainly used for a smooth and responsive competitive experience.

There's no beating the 390 Hz monitor in terms of input latency and responsiveness. But I can say that the pixel response times do make motion clarity not that much better than 240 Hz in super fast movements. I would pick the 390 Hz monitor. I have it and really like it. I don't use backlight strobing. The VG259QM might be very good too, however.

My opinion is also not one of a noob. I am coming from a 240 Hz TN panel. In some of my most played games, I have noticed improvements. In Call of Duty Vanguard, my KD is now about a 5.4. I also get multiple nuclears about each time I decide to get on and play (it's kind of funny constantly ending the game in these larger lobbies - people get pissed). I also am arguably the best Battlefront 2 1v1 duelist. That game is all about reaction time and latency. Even though it is locked at 200 FPS, I do feel as though the 390 Hz monitor has helped me. Right when i got it I went from being a top player to possibly the best player on the game.

Even though I only have a few hundred hours on it, Rocket League is also a good game to test monitors in because it's easy to hit super high frame rates of 400 FPS or more. It could just be from playing a bit more, but I have noticed some improvements in that game lately and I'm climbing through the Champion ranks (even though that's not really that great - also a bit harder for me because I switched to playing Rocket League with a keyboard and mouse after having the vast majority of my play time on Rocket League with a controller).

For valorant/csgo xv252qf. Other games where it’s harder to hit high fps go for 240hz.

I have the Acer 390hz after I had the Alienware 360hz. The Acer 390hz is way better then the Alienware 360hz cause it has MBR VRB on 360hz/390hz. Without the VRB its just a other blurry 360hz IPS monitor. ( that has ultra low inputlag)
