cut out to black screen for a split second

Talk about NVIDIA G-SYNC, a variable refresh rate (VRR) technology. G-SYNC eliminates stutters, tearing, and reduces input lag. List of G-SYNC Monitors.

cut out to black screen for a split second

Post by fenderjaguar » 06 Jun 2014, 12:37

Can I ask, is anyone else getting the cut out to a black screen for a split second, whilst using g-sync? I couldn't exactly tell you how long it is usually, a fifth of a second maybe? But generally, it happens very seldom. Some people might not even notice it, if it's a very short duration, but sometimes it can happen for maybe up to half a second.

I was having this occur more regularly before I reinstalled windows 7. After, I clean installed windows 7 and put windows 8.1 on too. I didn't use windows 8.1 for very long, but I don't seem to remember it doing it at all with that OS. The new install of 7, has hardly done it at all, but today I was playing a game completely uncapped for about an hour, and got the black screen for half a second.

I just wondered if anyone else had noticed this, because I think it's quite a serious issue. I might even put my 660ti back in to check it's not something wrong with my 780, but I don't think it could be since it only happens in g-sync mode...

Oh sorry, I should have searched.

Thanks. It's nice to know there probably isn't anything wrong with our GPUs or Gsync kits. Hopefully they can sort this out.
